Bras for hot days

Nice, loose, linen layers, lovely and cool... made pointless by a thick T-shirt bra underneath!

What bras exist that give support, prevent pokey nips yet add absolutely minimal heat on a week like this?

No risk of nip pokage in this heat, but I don’t really care anyway. I wear Lemonade Dolls bras/bralets for my deflated (6 stone weight loss) 36Cs and find them absolutely fine.

I bought a gel bra, they’re a lot more lightweight and lovely in the heat, support wise not amazing (but what wirefree ones are), but do provide enough padding for discretion.

FireOpalDreams · 09/07/2026 21:56

Bikini tops are designed to be breathable and fast drying. Cup sized ones give decent support.

SisterTeatime · 09/07/2026 21:58

I recently got a Wacoal Halo Lace bra, it’s great. The lace seems to be very breathable.

I love elomi bras. Pricey but required for my 33JJs. Good support and nothing of them yet no pokey nips 😉

redfishcat · 10/07/2026 05:38

Just ordered some cotton rich no wire bras from Mand S as my wired bras are so uncomfortable. They come in different back and cup sizes so am hoping my large boobs get some support.
Not got them yet, but they had good write ups

I absolutely love Boody bras. I’m a 34B so I don’t need a lot of support, but I’ve never found bras and underwear as comfortable as these. They’re made from bamboo are incredibly soft and don’t dig in.

Look for a merino wool bra. They won't have underwiring but lots of women don't want that anyway. Merino wool wicks sweat, breathes and is cooler than you would imagine in the heat. I haven't got a wool bra but I have some merino pants that I'm washing at night and wearing in rotation (I have three pairs) every day in the heat. Revelation!

Another vote for Boody. I’ve just discovered them & DH is fed up of me going on about how amazing & comfy they are! They don’t give me the best shape so if I was dressing up I would wear one of my other bras but for day to day wear they are great.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 10/07/2026 12:21

I have big boobs so need lots of support. I’ve been wearing my sports bras which are designed to be breathable. All good so far!

Nitgel · 10/07/2026 12:24

I've taken the wires out of a couple of fantasie bras. They're cotton and unpadded so cooler than padded bras.

Also bought a gossard glossy and it's fab as very sheer

parlona · 10/07/2026 12:30

I just wear my usual bras, they are light anyway despite me being Ecup, BUT..... I add a bra extender for hot days, it is amazing the difference in comfort levels. I suppose I am expanding in the heat! 😊

I wear sport bras. Catches the boob sweat and holds them up away from my body.

Atleastitsnotsunstroke · 10/07/2026 15:49

Gossard super boost lace. So cross they have gone into administration.

Pistachiocake · 10/07/2026 15:55

Lytess-it's a pullover one with no wires. I have no idea if skin benefits actually work, but it's comfy.

RampantIvy · 10/07/2026 16:00

I go without, but I'm not big anyway.

Garfieldloveslasagnepie · 10/07/2026 16:04

If I’m at home. No bra. Can’t be doing with them

ForPinkDuck · 10/07/2026 16:20

Cotton mix from M&S for me.

Bigreddog25 · 10/07/2026 21:04

We are not wearing bras in the heat, are we!?

Also- am I the only one a fan of the pointy nip?

SavageGarden23 · Today 08:31

Try having sensory issues on top of the heat.I get eyelure nipple covers and wear tops with strategically placed pockets and shirt dresses.. I also got some bra tops from uniqlo in one size bigger than normal, which is a must if you want to be able to fit your head and shoulders through. Thats it . I dont own any bras and dont plan to wear them anytime soon.
