I’m early 30s recently lost baby weight have got back to a size10/12 depending on brand. Im
going out for drinks dinner with friends and then birthday dinner with my husband soon. I have a very classic/ English country style. I want to look a little sexy when I go out and not feel like I’m mum for a few hours. Can anyone suggest anything open to all options but hate my upper arms so always have a sleeve or cap sleeve on. Also no trainers as I want to feel more dressy.

What height are you, OP, & what's your colouring? What colours do you like to wear/suit wearing? Do you want to buy one or two outfits - & what's your budget?

Are both events going to be at quite smart/dressy/formal bars/restaurants?

I am, TBH, a bit puzzled about what a "classic/English country style" is for someone in their early 30s! It does make me think of tweeds & flowery dresses & wellie boots ... Where do /did you normally shop?

Also, what do you think counts as a little sexy ...? Is it the same as what your husband thinks is sexy?! (As I'm assuming you want to look a bit sexy when you're out for his birthday dinner, minus both baby & the baby weight!)

Any women whose dress sense you really like? Does Kate Middleton count as someone who dresses in your preferred style? I think of her as someone who's not "fashionable" as such, but dresses in a very "feminine" way & is neat & polished. A little bit too wholesome-looking for my idea of sexy - but maybe she's not yours either!

Oh, & is your instinct a dress, or separates? What bits of your body do you like/are happy to show off or emphasise while feeling comfy? For instance, what about a short crochet dress & bare tanned legs à la Jane Birkin? Or a slightly prim-looking floral silk tea-dress with an extra button or two open?

compared to a lot of girls my age I do dress differently but my family friends and husband both say my style really suits me. I spent my early 20s trying to dress is what was fashionable at the time and it never suited me
