Office wear during a heatwave

What are you all wearing to the office when it gets hotter? I’m a completely different size to this time last year so I need to start from scratch.

My office is fairly smart but isn’t TOO corporate (no expectations for women to wear a suit or men to wear ties, for example) and in previous years men have been given permission to wear smart shorts.

I was thinking maybe a pair of linen trousers and some lightweight tops, maybe a pair of tailored shorts for the really hot days? I’ve already got a lightweight knee length dress that looks ok for the office and I’ve got some flat leather sandals that will work for hot weather.

Because I’ve had to basically replace my entire wardrobe, I don’t want to spend too much - if I could get kitted out with a couple of things I can mix and match for £150 that would be perfect.

I’m 5’9 and size 12.

Vinted and buy some nice dresses? I’m 5’10 and a 12 and have linen dresses and linen or silk skirts, linen trousers, and linen shirts with smart suit trousers. Jigsaw/whistles/with nothing underneath/cos

uniqlo are also good and reasonable if you want things that are new. Nice trousers and dresses and linen T shirts or shirts

I just wear shirt dresses - either Hush cotton or white stuff and I have a few smarter ones that are Hobbs. My biggest issue always is what to wear on my feet that looks smart enough but is comfortable!

Linen or silk. Usually either wide leg trousers with a short sleeve top or a shirt dress. Flat leather sandals on my feet. I take a thin cardigan too as offices can be chilly with air conditioning when you're sitting down for long periods, however hot it is outside.

Thanks everyone!

Vinted is a good shout, it’s been my best friend during my weight loss.

I had a look last night and ordered a 100% silk cocoon style dress from Jaeger (only £9!) and a sleeveless cotton shirt dress from Hobbs. I’ve got my eye on another couple Hobbs shirt dresses but I think I’ll see how this one fits first.
I’ve also got a few cotton and silk sleeveless blouses in my watch list and I ordered two pairs of linen trousers from M&S - a wide leg style and a tapered leg style, I think they’ll go well with the tops.

I find trousers the hardest thing to size properly when buying online, so I didn’t want to take a punt on Vinted for those. When I can be bothered to go to the shops I’ll try on some things from Cos, Hush etc so that I can get the sizing right.

I have two pairs of flat leather sandals that I bought from John Lewis a few years ago - one pair is tan and one pair is black. I think those will do for this summer.

Although not workwear (!) I also need to get a new swimming costume sorted before the holidays so any recommendations for those would be great!
