Honestly, if you hadn’t already told him, he wouldn’t even know after you have had it.

next time, don’t tell him. I got away with it for 7 years 😝

RoseOliviaAu · 30/06/2026 07:58

It’s Botox not surgery. Nobody can even tell I have any

Glitterella · 30/06/2026 09:15

I think men are just misinformed. Most mis-associate any face treatment with fillers and don’t understand what Botox is or what it does. They are thinking you are going to come out of your appointment with swollen lips.

Willow12345 · 30/06/2026 09:16

This is exactly why I don’t tell my husband - it’s nothing to do with them. You just look fresher a week later and no one is the wiser.

BeMellowAquaSquid · 30/06/2026 10:32

My husband didn’t approve convinced him to get his crows feet done as he didn’t believe the hype this was 3 years ago and it’s the one luxury he affords himself!

TheOGCCL · 30/06/2026 10:44

How did you get on OP? Hope you went ahead regardless.

I agree with PP that botox gets associated with fillers and big lips and general unnaturalness, and I KNOW people claim that they can always spot it, but I just don't think that's true when its done subtly. You don't have to look all spock browed and stretched forehead, although if that's your vibe, go for it.

I think the thing that gives it away eventually is that it doesn't look plausible for your age.

harriethoyle · 30/06/2026 10:49

@PlateSpinningQueen my ex husband said this (despite the fact that he was COVERED in tattoos). I went ahead and got it done without telling him the appointment date and he didn't notice until I pointed it out 3 weeks later. He then claimed it had ruined my face and he didn't like it - until I said it had been the previous month 😂Tit. One of the many reasons he's an ex!

I'm not saying LTB just yet but I definitely wouldn't let him put you off.

I would listen to your inner wobble. But that's just because I think botox is a bad idea for everyone (other than those with a medical need).

I agree. I'm biased, as I've been permanently injured by an off label psychotropic medication, but I've also read a lot of similar stories about people having awful adverse reactions to Botox too. Obviously, everyone reacts differently to things, and as I said, I'm pretty much biased, so take what I say mostly with a pinch of salt. I'm sure most people would be ok, I'm just an anomaly lol 😆 😂

ChristmasRager · 30/06/2026 19:46

Oh my gosh DO IT! And don’t tell! All my friends get it and no one tells their partner because they all say the same thing. Botox is amazing these days - men have no idea how subtle, natural and refreshing it can look. You won’t look back

Redragtoabull · 01/07/2026 09:05

Going for my follow up tomorrow after having forehead & crows feet done alongside 0.5ml in lips and jaw for jowls nearly 2 weeks ago and I look fantastic! Get it done, do the facial exercises and enjoy your fresh self

worldshottestmom · 01/07/2026 20:23

Tell him it's your body and your choice, and that's really all you should need to say.

Winefride · 02/07/2026 06:42

Just go do it. Most people who comment negatively about botox have only seen botch jobs and often confuse botox with filler.

It's reversible and doesn't even do that much apart from reduce wrinkles. It often doesn't erase them but will soften them.

MalcomVexx · 02/07/2026 06:50

I wouldn’t bother telling any man. They all talk about natural and growing old gracefully with no idea the person they’re basing their ideals on has had a full face lift. Go for it but get recommendations and high price doesn’t necessarily mean high quality.

as for asking a husbands permission, this is why pooled money is bullshit. It worked when a wife needed supporting but as long as bills are covered and I’m not causing financial issues, our money is our own to do as we see fit.

familyicons · 02/07/2026 06:51

I don't tell my husband

PlateSpinningQueen · 02/07/2026 20:12

Ha!
Sorry forgot I had posted about my wobble.
I did go ahead.
For clarity I had to tell him (as per previous poster) as we pool all our finances and this cost £250. Money is not an issue (we are very fortunate) but we do always talk about spends over £150-200. I earn a lot more than him but we share everything. Essentially he likes the natural look so that’s why he doesn’t approve- it is not a control thing.
Day 5 today after Allergan. It was uncomfortable and I have a big bruise in the middle of my forehead. So the jury is out- will let you know how I get on!

It makes me laugh how naive men can be . My best friend told her new husband that she was just going out for her Botox /filled appointment.. she is also naive and assumed everyone knew that this is standard beauty regime amongst middle class (by that I mean those who can afford it) .. his response was standard .. why ? You don’t kneed it ! You look fantastic… ummm yes - well perhaps that’s because I’ve had ‘help’ for 8years !!

familyicons · 02/07/2026 21:22

You'll notice it on day 10

A bruise? Blimey! Glad you went ahead and you’ll notice soon enough. This is why I have my own money only but if I pooled I’d keep some to the side for Botox and parking tickets 🤣

Freyarw · 29/06/2026 01:14

Go for it. I have never regretted botox for a second. Ask for the Allergan original. Supplement it with Tretinoin cream from Monderma or Renew and Me to help smooth lines and extend results to four to five months.

Why allergen original, please? Genuine question!

I do wonder what the point is then though …

I believe she means it looks natural. If you don't go over board it just takes the edge off rather than freezing your face.
For me after a very stressful time I had permanent 11's. I started botox and now, even when its worn off, they've gone. Before I looked angry/upset all the time as they were just there. I feel better about myself and my colleagues who I am in charge of no longer think I'm pissed at them all the time.

What happened after 7yrs?
