I’m looking for a black tie dress for my nephews wedding. It’s not until November but I was wondering if I could find something suitable in the sale .
I’m 55 , 5’4” apple shape . I was hoping for some kind of sleeve or covering on the arms .
Im a dress size 12-14.
I’d appreciate any help.

Dress size? What's your colouring? Budget?

I always suggest Adrianna Papell for black tie dresses. John Lewis stock some of them. I bought my MOB evening dress by Adrianna Papell from Amazon! It came from the US and was a great price due to the exchange rate. All done through Amazon.co.uk

It's winter so you won't want wishy washy or very summery colours, but maybe avoid solid black? Go for deep jewel colours like navy, bottle green, burgundy etc. It's quite hard to find evening gowns with sleeves so maybe look at some sort of stole or shrug as well.

Can't seem to make my cut and paste work for some reason but look at Monsoon Mona Angel sleeve maxi dress in dark Green

Is it a church service followed by a hotel reception, OP?

I think that you will have the greatest choice of dresses in September, by the way, as the new season will be coming into the shops then.

I imagine that a sleek line with elbow length sleeves would look good on you.
