Is this bag hideous?

I need a tote bag to travel with, that will fit under the seat on a plane, that I can zip closed so stuff doesn’t fall out.
Sometimes will be work trip, so needs to fit my laptop. Sometimes will be holiday carryon so all the usual holiday stuff.
I have a Nordace backpack which is great for work, so thought this might be good. But is it too functional, and in fact, hideous?

Any other suggestions for around £200? Please don’t suggest Longchamp. Have a teenage daughter.

I second that it would be a pain to carry after a bit. Especially with clothes, laptop and washbag. And any papers you collect while away.
A tiny roller suitcase was my fix and I love it very much.

I really want a zipped tote bag, but one that can fit weekend away or laptop but with wheels and a handle.

I think the nordace one has a suitcase strap so you can put it over the suitcase handles- I'm not sure that any of the others linked here have that,and it is very very handy!

I mean, it’s alright and definitely a teenage deterrent. It looks to me like those free gifts you used to get if you ordered something from LaRedoute in the 90s. There are nicer bags. I got mine from Lululemon about a year ago and then one for travel from Anya Hindmarch in the sale. There were some lovely work bags a few years ago that were too expensive for my lowly salary then. I’ll look them up and will post again if I remember.

I’ve just bought a new bag that size for travel … I went bit wild on colour for me lol - that bag is nice but it’s quite a plain colour … I think perhaps I’m going through a midlife crisis 🤣🤣

Well it’s not hideous, I thought you were going to share something really garish in colour or design!
It’s inoffensive and will suit your needs.
I just use a bashed up old kanken rucksack as a plane bag if travelling hand luggage only, it’s about 10 years old and started life as dc1s school bag 😂
I can’t deal with anything just sitting heavily on one shoulder, I find it annoying and it continuously slides off and also I have back issues so something I can carry on both shoulders is ideal for me.
if I’m travelling with checked luggage I just use my Uniqlo cross body bag so I can be completely hands free which is my preferred method of travelling anywhere.

@TheLemonOtter The Samsonite ones have a flap on one side that you put over the extended handle of your spinner suitcase. It’s like a double decker and is very useful. I don’t travel without some size of suitcase though!

Le Pilage seems to be de rigeur with every Uni student I know. I love mine but solely because I can shove it in my carry on rolled up when I come back to the UK and then put my suitcase in the hold on the way back and fill the extra bag with food to bring home. That's where it shines because it gets really big!

I wouldn't spend good money on anything so dull, albeit functional. And it appears to be kind of beige. And it is boring IMHO (and you did ask!).

TBH I would want leather for that price, and I think that leather has longevity. I still have and use designer bags from late 90s.

Have you looked at Coach? JL have a sale on atm and you might pick something up there. Also their own brand leather bags are really nice, and I can vouch for the quality.

Not hideous but not great either. Think someone suggest Longchamp above (sorry haven’t read whole thread) which I would choose over this. I’ve had my Longchamp bag for over 10 years
