Comfortable chunky sandals for work and jeans under £120

I have a couple of Birkenstocks in different colors but wanted something a bit more structured that could look good both with jeans and work trousers or skirt.
I like chunky sandals but I am quite short and a size 12 so don’t want anything that makes me look too bulky.
I need them to be comfy - budget up to £120.
Brands I usually like are Sezane, Esska, Jonak etc.

@ArlanymorJust raising my head above the parapet to say, I have them in brown and love them!

I have the tan ones and they're lush. I even bought a replacement pair in the sale last year as the old ones are wearing out on the sole. And I'm still in my 30s! (Just!)

Lennylegs · 30/06/2026 05:24

Not these ones specifically but had a similar pair last year, so comfy :

Do you want me to delete it entirely then? I originally posted because they are lovely sandals and I get heaps of compliments about them. I re-read the post, saw I had skimmed over the word chunky and then edited to post the disclaimer. I thought that was good enough rectification, but happy to go and get a birch branch to flagellate myself if that is preferred.

Some people just have to have the last word, Arlanymor😂

Penelope Chilvers surprised no one has mentioned these

Comfy yes, I'm sure they are - I like that brand. Not remotely "chunky" though!!

My rather stylish DD has recently started wearing these chunky sandals from Sainsburys and says they’re like walking on clouds!

I’ve got these in 2 colours and they are the most comfortable things the world has ever known. Obvs not to everyone’s taste but I bloody love them.

(I’m also a short size 12 and my feet are are a size 4. I wear these with everything)

I have these - I can barely walk two minutes down the road without someone asking me where they are from! Go with everything - but also do other colour ways (I am tempted by the silver too now they are on sale). Really comfortable.

Edited to say, I know they are not a chunky design but they are so versatile. Plus I don't really like sandals that are too chunky as they look a bit utilitarian to me.

I absolutely love these.

I've already bought 3 new pairs of sandals this year, so will struggle to justify it, but the style and colours are gorgeous. 😍

Not sure why you don't think these are more "mature" tbh, they scream boring to me!

Entirely true! LOVE your username! ❤

Another vote for Doc Martens Voss, amazingly comfortable, right from first wear. Think others are more problematic but these are so comfortable, easy wear all day and go with everything!

Thank you! What is the sizing like from your experience?

I have these and love them. Quite a few people have asked where they’re from https://www.next.co.uk/style/su511848/w59189

Oh come on. You know what the OP means. Have you always bought clothes that your mum might also choose at the same point in time?

Because of most of us haven't.

Strange comment. I quite often wear the same type of clothes as my daughters. Fashion is pretty much ageless these days.

Yes but my question was not 'do you like to dress the same as your daughter?'

It was 'do you like to dress the same as your mother?'

They aren't the same thing. 😂
