I tried these on the other day and didn’t find them that comfortable but don’t know if it’s like the boots and just a case of wearing them in?

or any chunky/trendy alternatives that are comfy? Cheaper than the docs would be a bonus!!

I love my Blaire ones and they were comfy from the off. HOWEVER I found out the hard way that any sort of moisture makes them rub so I cant walk on damp grass with them, learned experience. I dont have particularly sweaty feet so I wonder if this is a factor? My feet are very average width and I think there is a sweet spot for them where your feet cant be too narrow or too wide.

blankcanvas3 · 23/06/2026 20:27

I found mine comfortable after one or two wears, just did short walks to begin with and they were fine after that! I’m living in them at the moment

DaisyMayBojangles · 23/06/2026 20:28

Mine ripped my feet to shreds 😭..I tried over 3 summers to break them in as I loved them, but gave up eventually and sold them on Vinted.
Everyone else I know who has them annoyingly says how very comfortable they are!

DaisyMayBojangles · 23/06/2026 20:29

I had the Blaire’s btw

OhThePotential · 23/06/2026 20:37

No. I love my docs but had to get rid of the sandals and Mary Janes. Both styles were so cute but they might as well have made shoes out of knives.

Allmarbleslost · 23/06/2026 20:38

A good friend of mine loves hers and walks miles in them. I bought myself a pair and they cut my feet every time I wore them. I tried really hard to break them in!

Ilovecaptainlee · 23/06/2026 20:54

Yes. Mine ruined my holiday the first time I wore them then after that were completely fine.

Till they shrunk in the heat and I had to chuck them.

Cannybeme · 23/06/2026 21:00

I have had several pairs of Blaire’s. I wear a 7 usually, but can size down in these. They do wear down quickly and can on occasion rub on the toes a little.

The Clarissa I found so heavy, sold them on eBay.

brogueish · 23/06/2026 21:01

I tried a few pairs but gryphons are by a country mile the most comfortable. No break in, no rubbing, honestly as comfy as trainers ime.

AbsoluteHoot · 23/06/2026 21:10

I have Voss 2 sandals and they are so comfortable and required no breaking in.

Mrscharlieeeee · 23/06/2026 21:13

I’m on my second pair of Blaires after my first lot wore out after 5 years. I’ve found both pairs comfy from the off. I have heard others say different though.

UnderThePressure · 23/06/2026 21:29

I wear DM boots apart from when it's really hot, but I've been put off getting DM sandals because I'm afraid of having to break them in.
I wear KOI sandals, normally get them from Vinted, or Crocs do a style called Brooklyn which are chunky but really comfy.

WoahThreeAces · 23/06/2026 22:39

Mine tore up my feet but then someone told me to put Vaseline on them on the bits that touch my feet... absolute game changer, they became almost immediately comfortable and i can wear them all day now!! Magic

Shortsharptap · 23/06/2026 23:55

I’ve just bought some on Vinted and they are very comfy (I’ve put a gel pad in).

I did the same with boots…let someone else break them in for you

Greycatclub · 24/06/2026 03:45

Hate mine, wish I’d never bought them. Gathering dust atm

Leopardprintbikini · 24/06/2026 08:47

You all need Cherryblossom Dubbin wax. You rub this on to the inside and the edges of the sandals and leave it to absorb for at least 12 hours. It softens and conditions the leather so it won't rub and eat your feet. Do it at least once a month.

The same goes for Doc boots, rub that into the inside back of the boot and again leave for at least 12 hours.

Get them on Vinted!

I never got these Clarissas to be comfy - ripped my feet. The lighter sole ones have been fab though (Voss et al).

ItsPickleRick · 24/06/2026 10:27

The Clarissa’s are probably the worst out of them all, they never got comfy and ripped my feet to shreds.

I have the Nartilla ones now and they’re super comfy.

Mine cut my feet to ribbons, on eBay they wrnt

RhosynCymru · 24/06/2026 12:07

I have two pairs of the Clarissa ones and find them very comfortable with little to no breaking in. I apply Vaseline to the heel areas where potential rubbing might occur. The Blaire ones in patent on the other hand… found them very difficult to soften.
