Plug in version.

It's a few years old but hasn't been used much. I think it was sat in it's box for at least a year! It runs ok and will light up and then flash fine for maybe 15mins but then it won't light up. The fan is still going and the buttons are lit up. It's as if it doesn't detect skin. I have to turn it off, leave it a few minutes and it works again.

It does get hotter quicker than it used to too.

It's out of it's warrante. I just wondered if anyone else has had this?

Does the ‘window’ need cleaning ? I had similar with mine and it needed wiping in not sure if a film builds up somehow but it worked fine again once I cleaned it with a cotton cloth

I have been wiping with a dry cloth but now you come to mention it, it might only happen with one attachment. I'll try a damp cloth. Do you think you can submerge the attachments?

This is normal. They get hot after around 15-20 mins and need to cool down for 10mins or so.

I probably wouldn’t risk submerging. I cleaned the attachment window and the actual device window, I think it was something on one that was just stopping it recognising skin?

Unfortunately they do need to be charged up and used every few months or they tend to stop working - this happened to me with an older version. Although it’s out of warranty may be worth getting in touch with Philips see what they suggest, they probably could discount a newer model for you if they can’t repair the older one.

That's for chord free ones. Mine is plug in.
