Shirt dresses with tiered skirts, too casual for workwear?

I've just got a new board level job and have lost 8 stone over the last two years. I am trying to build a workwear wardrobe for days in the new organisation's city of London HQ. My shape has changed a lot and my trusty wide leg trousers and cropped jacket looks odd on me.

I think shirt dresses are the way to go but I keep seeing lots with a frill at the bottom of the skirt. To me that may be too casual but I have spent so long being restricted in what I can wear I don't trust my instincts any more.

So, shirt dresses with tiered skirts, too casual or ok for the office?

Ok for a Tuesday in the office, blazer over it for a teams call, not ok for court (or equivalent) would be my take.

I do love shirt dresses as they flatter my shape, although less so the tiered skirt variety. I have a few of them but mostly I avoid them as I think they look more casual.

This is the sort of style I like to wear as I find the 'shirt with collar' top half does a lot of heavy lifting to look smart.

@Undertheeaves thank you so much for those recommendations. They're great and brands I hadn't thought to look at. Colours are spot on too as I suit navy and green really well

I have one like you described from Hobbs. Doesn't need ironing either.
