Lymphatic drainage

I keep getting adverts on my FB feed telling me I need to “release my fascia” and it seems a lymphatic drainage massage is going to do this for me and I’m going to lose loads of weight overnight 😄. what can anyone tell me ? And how do you find someone who specialises in this technique ? I booked a very expensive massage at selfridges that advertised this and quite frankly it was crap. Am I being sucked into the current (pointless) trend ?

Yeah as a massage therapist I can tell you that you won’t lose loads of weight. It can help if you are holding water post injury or illness but honestly you can just look up the lymph nodes online and drain to them yourself. The lymphatic system if very superficial so you need to use very little pressure.

I’ve paid for massages before and never thought they were up to much.
