Petite summer wedding guest dress recommendations for a stylish London look

Help! I’m looking to find the holy grail of dresses.

Fancy central London summer wedding, so I want something cool, comfortable but glam enough. I’m 5’2, size 6/8 and really struggle to find anything I like in petite ranges. They seem to pick the worst dresses to change the proportions of. Have tried all the usual - Reiss, whistles, Nobodies Child etc, and have also looked at the fancier end - Reformation, Rat & Boa etc, but think I’d probably need to chop a metre’s worth of material from a v expensive dress! Can anyone help?

What I’m looking for:

  • Suitable for petite, so not too much material/drowned effect!
  • Me: Blonde hair, mid tone skin (+ a bit of tan), age 39
  • No backless (a bit of back, fine, but not the halter/low back style)
  • Not too girly. I don’t like excess florals without a bit of edge. Similarly frills etc
  • Open to prints. And colour - will likely avoid yellow and brown though
  • Probably more fashiony end - open to satin/drapes but as long as I can feel comfortable. No frump!
  • Budget - up to £300 max, but also interested in lower budget gems! Have looked for vintage too
  • Open to a coord (top and skirt as may be more wearable)

I think that’s as much info as I can muster, but I’m sure my pickiness will emerge!

@Annalou30

In which kind of venues is it taking place, OP? Is it a church service then a hotel reception?

Out of the dresses you already have, which colour is your favourite dress?

Karen Millen is a great shout, thank you. I love the shape of this one, just maybe not the print: https://www.karenmillen.com/product/karen-millen-petite-pink-abstract-twist-shoulder-satin-viscose-midi-dress_bkk29958?colour=multi

And this, but too white https://www.karenmillen.com/product/karen-millen-petite-applique-spot-printed-halter-neck-woven-maxi-dress_bkk28238?colour=mono

@TheSquareMile no church and very garden party type vibes. Colours - I do tend to like pinks but am fairly open minded apart from the yellow/brown. I think I'd probably be classed as a 'summer'.

The John Lewis one, not for me I'm afraid. Feels a little old maybe.

Trying to find some unusual brands too, to no avail!

Rixo does a petite range. I just bought the Sandrine dress to wear to a wedding this summer.

Im 5ft 1 and the dress doesn’t require any alterations

I don’t love the print of the first one and agree the second one is probably too white.

I know I keep linking pink dresses (not purposefully!) but this is a nice drape from Coast who I also find reliable for petite.
