Going to Sicily for 10 nights soon on family holiday as a 50 year old, size 12 - 14 female and trying to pack a bit lighter than most years!
please could you critique this list or make suggestions? TIA. Can’t wait. First family holiday abroad for a few years.

Also definitely need new swimwear - was thinking Bravissimo as think it is pretty high quality, 36D chest so not that big but want to feel comfortable and a bit more confident. TMI but have slight varicose vein and lots of thread veins so feel self/conscious about legs but still get them out! 😊☀️

Very restrained!

Do you have access to washer? Everything looks good unless you have young children (or are prone to spilling things yourself). I am, so would take more tops for when I get sunscreen, ice cream etc on the top and need to wash it (I suppose I don’t wear dresses though so it balances out).

I don't think you'll need that many shoes for 10 days. I would pick either the birkenstocks or trainers. I'd also pack shorts

Just do laundry half way through.

You don’t say whether villa or hotel or what you will be doing but assuming some sightseeing, time by pool and changing for dinners:

Not enough tops - add at least 2

Too many shoes and do you really need slippers? wear the trainers assuming you need them for workout as well, pack flip flops and 2 pairs of sandals on slightly dressier. Use flip flops as slippers

It will be hot so you won’t need 3 layers but if you are going to visit any churches take a light scarf to cover shoulders

Sun cream
insect repellent
Basic medical kit

I prefer to pack as outfits: daytime and evening. I find it easier to reckon what goes with what then. Then I count the outfits 47 times 😬

What are you doing while you’re there? Sightseeing or subbed? Posh dinners out or eat at the villa. Then plan outfits around that.

things I’d change / add

  • waterproof (if rain forecast) jacket
  • pool / beach coverups
  • flip flops to double as slippers
  • chargers + adaptor
  • kindle / book
  • beach towel
  • sunscreen
