Stick on cups or backless bra for prom?

Hello. Dd's got her prom in a couple of weeks. Her dress has got quite a low corset style back. Can anyone recommend either those stick on style cups to wear with it or a low back bra?
She doesn't feel comfortable going without - D/E cup.

Thanks.

I have smaller breasts but they work well I think. Just make sure she washes the area where the sticky bits go thoroughly with soap beforehand, and absolutely do not apply moisturiser.

This is the dress

I don't think she'd want a bodice type bra.

What did she think she'd wear when she bought it?

I tried stick on bras when I was only a B/C cup and they were absolutely useless! The bust in that top looks very tight though- so might help keep the stick on things in place.
This might be another option https://www.bouxavenue.com/stick-on-bras/backless-and-strapless-bra/108888_10FR.html?cgid=1000453

I don't think we really thought about it as she tried it on and then decided she'd look on Vinted for similar which she did.
But I think either tit tape or stick on would work best given the low back. When I was her age, I just went braless but she's not keen.

I wear this kind of thing
Here
They don’t give support but they give a good shape and hide nipples.

I reckon stick on will be ok - it’s a very structured dress and sounds like (?) it laces at the back so will keep everything in place. It’s a gorgeous dress by the way, she’ll look beautiful x

I bought the Anna one from here for holidays recently. I'm an E/F cup and whilst it didn't give amazing support it did the job for a few hours under a strappy dress amd minimised the jiggle! I've bought similar from ebay before but they've been very skimpy on size - this one actually covered my boobs.

If you can find one, most seamstresses can bra cups or bras into evening dresses. My friend had her wedding dress done when she took it to be hemmed, and an evening dress. I think it’s a simple fix but it might be more costly than buying a low back bra.

I wore a backless dress for an evening black tie event recently and honestly, the backless and stick on bras were rubbish. The only thing that worked was seeing a seamstress who sewed cups in and fit the dress to me - I was so comfortable on the night and felt well supported.

I agree with this. Dd1 gets on well but she’s a 32B, I’m not sure they work for above a c cup but for dance shows (which dd3 does) they sew the bra in and it’s great. That’s what I did for my 32DDs in my wedding dress.

Agree with this, or sew them in yourself, you can buy them easily. That would give a bit of extra support and coverage.

What a gorgeous dress.

I agree stick on with that back would work best. Also agree it looks like a good supportive bodice so more about nipple coverage than complete support.

if She wants a bra then the bodice is likely to be necessary as it’ll be hard to get any bra with no visible. back. You can get strapless with clear back though if she doesn’t mind the shiney back bit showing?

Stowickthevast · 14/06/2026 20:14

Thanks for all the feedback - I've ordered the bralux one above. Hoping to sell it on post prom as don't think she'll have another occasion to wear a dress like that so don't really want to go down the seamstress route. Also I am rubbish at all things crafty!

I can highly recommend the boomba stick on bras. I'm a 32g and they hold me up beautifully. You do need a pretty structured dress for them to work but it looks like you'd be fine in that regard

madaboutpurple · 14/06/2026 22:26

Lovely dress and further down it suggests an invisible bra would be best.

EeewDavid12 · 14/06/2026 22:51

I’ve used partybra.co.uk before. They were really comfortable and stayed in place all evening.
