Skirts for the summer

Could you please help me find nice summer skirts.
I'm 42, size 8 and 5'2" so maxi skirts are too long on me. I'm looking for skirts up to or just below my knee.
I have beautiful tops in yellow, white, green, purple but I'm really struggling with finding something suitable to pair them with.
Don't wear trousers much.
Many thanks.

I wear skirts more than trousers, too. What do you mean about maxi skirts being too long on you? Is it that you don’t like the proportions in your mirror, or that they trail on the ground and you never get round to having them altered to fit?

Speaking as someone a smidgen under 5’3 I generally find long calf, or ankle length skirts the nicest to wear. I have the odd knee length skirt but it’s much harder to keep the proportions of an outfit elegant with those.

You don’t give a budget?

Zara is often brilliant for skirts. I love the look of this:

But Id also be racing to buy this MHL if I didn’t already have one almost exactly like it:

I'm 5'2 and wear long skirts and dresses - hate my legs 🤣

Thank you for your responses, and sorry I didn't give a budget. I can't spend much. Around £60 - 70 for two skirts.

By 'long' I mean they trail on the ground.
Where do you buy ankle length skirts please?

Everywhere.

If I were to buy a skirt that was too long I would take it to my alterations service to be shortened. A dry cleaners, or your friend or relative with a sewing machine, could do the same for you.

As skirts are easy to make there are plenty of lovely ones available really cheaply: try supermarkets, Primark and Uniqlo sales. But it’s worth looking at pre-owned sites like Vinted / EBay for better quality at a reduced price. And TK Maxx.

Have you considered making your own?

Thank you, yes, I should consider alteration services.
