What shoes do you wear for summer nights in pub gardens?

Is there such a thing as a comfortable and stylish wedge sandal.

I get the impression that espadrilles are unpopular in style and beauty. Is that the wedge, the strings, or grassy plaits?

I would like a bit of a heel for going out in summer, a wedge because I am often walking and on grass so they are practical and wearable. Worn with summer outfits, dresses, wide leg floaty trousers, denim shorts to make them more evening than my trainers, flip flops and walking sandals.

Is that a thing?

I have some comfy summer wedges, they have woven straps that cross over which makes them comfy as the straps adapt. But I wouldn’t be wearing them to a pub garden, I’d wear trainers or some nice flat sandals for that.

I go with low block heel rather than wedges, not sure particularly why. Sezane Natacha are my versatile go-tos and I’m very tempted by the Penelope Chilvers Shepherdess I’ve seen mentioned here a few times recently

I also wear flats or trainers- not ones I'd do sports in but more fashion trainers. No way could I be walking through grass or hanging out in wedges all night. I'd also be worried about getting cold feet or bitten by mosquitos. For me, the issue with espadrilles is the grass stuff on them which IMO make them look cheap and like something you'd pick up on holiday for £2. I'm also not keen on the cork ones, but there seems to be limited other options in wedges.

Well those grassy plaits stink if they get wet! Make sure the ground is dry if wearing espadrilles!
