Water bottle that fits a kanken?

I made the mistake of buying a Kanken. I thought my water bottle would fit in the side pocket but it doesn't.

Does anyone have a water bottle that does fit? Pref not plastic. I don't want to buy the additional pocket.

What a rubbish bag it is.

Yeah it’s an umbrella pocket not a bottle pocket. The little Sho bottles fit at a squeeze. 260 ml original and kids bottle.

It was my Sho 750 that I thought would fit.

We use it as our day bag and it’s really robust (I think I’ve had it more than a decade) but I dream about proper bottle pockets! One day…

Head into tk maxx or home sense and try some? I’ve got smaller metal bottles that work plus a sistema. Also one side seems slightly larger than the other!

Alas we have neither. Probably for the best because my house would be filled with even more tat (and blankets).

If you've just bought it, can you return the bag? Or swap it?

I love my kanken, can pack easily a long weekends clothes and passport in the front pocket, fits undeseats on planes. I've a metal bottle with a caribiner that I clip on if needed. Also user it for local shop, it's really comfy to carry even when really full. (Just don't take out the seat pad!)

I was thinking about it but then my son was being nosey and took the "seat pad" out and didn't put it back before the cat and her claws found it. He isn't normally so careless so I'm not going to make him buy me something else.

Why? My son has already taken it out.

The seat pad is part of the design for children who want a dry seat waiting for a bus, it's a part of the design of the bag that if it's gone you get a collapsed bag with no structural integrity.
