Daith piercing thoughts

I had my daith pierced a couple of weeks ago and last night my kids (aged 8 and 11) told me they think it looks a bit weird. I have a few other ear piercings and they've never commented before, so it got me wondering, is a daith tag different to, say a helix piercing?

I never thought of it that way but I feel the same about, stretched earlobes, so I guess we all have our limits.

What are yours?

I think it’s just different to them because it’s not on the outside of the ear. I love a daith piercing!

Ooh I want that but im not brave enough! 😆

I think they can look stunning! It is a piercing that’s not as often seen so it might just be getting used to it for them.

It isn’t so bad! At least you get to lie down for it.

I've got both sides done. I love them.
Wait until the kids are older and making their own 'individual' choices there will be plenty you probably won't like but each to their own.

Anyone wanting them done, the pain is short its more the pressure as the needle is pushed through and then the fiddly bit of getting the jewellery in thats uncomfortable more then painful.

I have a daith piercing and love it. Don’t think it’s the same thing as expanded lobes.

Mine was manky for about 9 months. Then one day it was just fine. Cartilage takes ages to heal.

Mine was easier than my 3rd lobes! And dead easy to heal as protected inside your ear

Haha, I feel better now! I work in a very conservative environment so was a bit worried other people might be as horrified as my kids! I got it done with a very basic ring so looking forward to changing it to something more fancy when it heals.

I had my daith done to see if it helped my migraines (it didn’t but I liked how it looked so I kept it!). Mine was very swollen to start with, couldn’t wear in ear headphones. It did ease over time. Just needed persistent cleaning for about 9 months. I also have my tragus pierced and think that’s more obvious!

Newtrix · 13/06/2026 20:46

What was the daith like pain wise? I have my tragus and rook plus a number of helix piercings already so any comparison would be great!

KingfisherBlue · 20/06/2026 04:14

For me, definitely the most painful of all my piercings - sorry! All my others were a quick ouch at worst but my daith actually hurt. Definitely more than a tragus but don't have a rook so I can't compare.
