Bras that don't dig in...help!

I'm having a difficult time finding a bra that doesn't dig into my ribs underneath my boobs. My boobs are gargantuan at the moment...I'm a 36H. Long term I've saving for a reduction, but in the meantime I long to be comfortable. I have been properly measured, have tried different styles, underwired and wired. I'm currently in the M &S flexifit, but even these dig in by the end of the day. Where am I going wrong??

You might not be doing anything, it could just be anatomy based, how do non wired fit ?

Marmaladeaddict · 08/06/2026 19:51

I find myself just not wearing a bra a lot of the time these days because of this. I can’t tolerate underwired bras anymore at all. However even Flexifit and similar hurt me now. I don’t know what the answer is.

I also have quite big boobs and have found going up in the band and down cup sizes way better for me. It is the opposite of what the place who last measured me advise obviously, but we're all different and I prefer a looser band.

I’ve had this problem for ages and just hate the feel of the band around my ribcage.

Discovered these from Sainsbury’s which are the most comfortable bra I’ve found in ages.

Like a pp, I am supposed to be 36E, but despite many different brands I found that size is just not quite right even though I had "proper" measurement done . So I went up a band size myself to 38, went to DD and OMG the difference is just unreal for comfort anyway.

I will get bra extenders for the 36s of which I have many. E cup in them, but I'm sure I'll survive if I tighten the shoulder straps.

I think a lot of bra sizing is trial and error myself. There's no way I'd wear a bra with the wire or band sticking into my ribcage. That's torture, for what??

Have you tried Fantasie or Elomi bras? I'm a similar size snd they're my go-to brands. Ii get mine from an independent lingerie retailer.

Could you try a 38GG @Richtea67 more band width but equivalent cup volume?

eta; a 36H and a 38GG are sister sizes 😊

Tummelthecat · 08/06/2026 21:12

I am a 38 H. Try an Elomi Morgan.

Non wired fit seeks fine, and feels comfortable when I try them on, but then a couple of hours later it's a different story. I've wasted so much money on different styles/bras.
