I'm lookinh for ideas about gifts for a friend of mine. It's her birthday (late 60s) and she is very glam and very fashion and beauty conscious. Max £30.

For me in previous years she has got for me nice night cream and a lipstick- but both those were because they were gifted to her and she didn't like them as she has specific likes for that sort of thing, so I am not sure I want to get anytbing like that for her as she may not like it. Last time I got her a little quartz bracelet in her favourite colour which she liked.

Not a scented candle, or scarf which is sometimes my 'I have no idea' go-to gift.

I'd love some ideas! I could get her some decent quality nailpolish- that's what immediately comes to mind, but other than that I have drawn a blank!

What about a nice posh handcream

Plants. Spectacular flowering house plants can be got for under 30 quid eg orchid bowls. Or a passion flower if she has a garden.

What about a glass nail file, a nice Polish and a nice handcream in a nice cosmetic bag .

The OP has posted in Style & Beauty, @Summerhillsquare!

@AfternoonTeaAddict my first thought was Gucci lipstick - so it’s a shame that won’t work.

This is gorgeous and tremendously good value (tiny bit over budget):

Alternatively, in beauty absolutely everything at both:

Westman Atelier

Victoria Beckham

is flawless at the moment, so you could take your pick.

(BTW I’m roughly your friend’s age and would be a bit nonplussed to receive jewellery or clothes at that price point. So maybe avoid those.)

Some great ideas on the thread so thank you all!

I like the idea of french fancy soaps. She turned one of the spare rooms into a bathroom boudoir after being made redundant so I think that would work nicely.
