I've solved my manky heels!

JunesDunes · 02/06/2026 17:02

I had heels like hooves. It didnt matter what I did or used. Now for the first time in my life, I have finally got pink, smooth and soft heels!

I know it's a common question on here.

It's taken 3 weeks so it's not a quick fix. I used Dr Scholl perfect pedi a few times a week. The first few times were pretty hardcore but now it's just a quick go around so takes a couple of minutes.

Most mornings I put body moisturiser on them. Then every night I'd use Flexitol. The one that says it works in 3 days sinks in better than the 1 day. I'm now alternating the flexitol with the multitude of other foot lotions I have.

It's this pedi perfect (worth shopping around).

It won't show my pic but it's Mixa Balm 10-in-1 Cica Repairing Ointment

PhoebeBuffay1234 · 02/06/2026 22:05

I use a glass file thing from Glowxie and then use this:

I always wear socks with it. Occasionally I use Kerasal foot repair ointment as well, but mainly use that on my fingers.

https://amzn.eu/d/00tkI7UU I’ve got one of these…use it on your feet when dry….its amazing!!!!

Was it you you recommended these on another recent thread? If so, thank you 😁 I bought one (not this exact one) and OMG it's bloody brilliant!

Wolffie17 · 02/06/2026 22:14

I find any cream with urea in (I know right!) works brilliantly.

Ninamalina · 02/06/2026 22:21

As fruitypancake says , vaseline and socks is brilliant. Won't work as a once off but I do it probably 3 nights a week and have done for yrs and it works like a charm. Have no problems with cracked heels anymore. I buy the big tubs in the cheapy shops etc.

LondonRidge · 02/06/2026 22:27

I have nothing to offer but am here to thank you all for this thread!

Divebar2021 · 02/06/2026 22:41

@ItsPeggyOlson

Sure no problem

This was what I thought I was buying but I ended up with a brand called Mooyam which doesn’t seem to be sold on Amazon now but is sold on eBay. I probably wouldn’t bother buying it specifically from there I’d just try another generic glycolic acid at 7%. Something like this. Sorry the links are mad. I’ve used this on my scalp on occasion too.

This is the only thing that makes any difference to my horrible heels.

My dry, cracked trotters were entirely sorted out when I changed from shower gel to bar soap.

I can't explain this.

GreenMarigold · 02/06/2026 23:04

I really struggle with dry, cracked heels. The cracks are always getting so deep that I get bits of sock stuck in them and then it gets really painful.

I try to give my feet a good scrub in the bath. I have a great pumice stone I bought from Tropic years ago - no idea what I will do when it finally disintegrates. Then apply Flexitol and pop on a pair of socks for an hour or two before bed. My feet are much better in the morning.

The routine needs to be nightly really but I usually shower rather than bathe. Oh and if like me you have sensitive, eczema prone hands, wash them after touching Flexitol!

I find that baths dry my feet out and make thr cracks worse. 🤷‍♀️

Gel heel socks are great if using creams at night. And they’re not annoying like socks as no toes

lils86 · 02/06/2026 23:36

Heels like hooves 😂😂😂😭

AllTheChaos · 02/06/2026 23:42

Scalp? Is that for dry skin? I’m confused but hopeful as I get some kind of dermatitis on my scalp which leads to patches of hard, dry, skin, and have never known what to use that won’t make my hair super greasy!

Nutmuncher · 02/06/2026 23:44

I use the Nuve Silk 3 Pro, game changer

ElegantlyDecluttering · 02/06/2026 23:46

I've got the Nails Inc version of the electric file and it is the business. Use in combination with CCS footcream from Boots (10% urea), no socks as I overheat in them.

JustMyView13 · Yesterday 05:39

Glycolic acid first, then your preferred foot cream if you want to turbo charge results :)

When I ended up with the Glycolic acid that was too harsh for my face I googled what else to do with it and there were some articles about using on the scalp for product building up and dandruff. I’ve used it once or twice with no adverse effects although I’d proceed cautiously.

PeloMom · Yesterday 06:45

Just get some urea cream

I find any cream with urea in (I know right!) works brilliantly.

I get a 40% urea one from amazon which is fab for feet and dry spots on knees! Only need a small amount.

CinnamonJellyBeans · Yesterday 07:34

I prefer foot peels and flexitol, as I find filing can stimulate more hard skin to grow.

AllTheChaos · Yesterday 07:44

Definitely worth a go, with care as you say. Thanks @Divebar2021!

PlantsAndSpaniels · Yesterday 08:43

I use a 40%urea foot cream from amazon and its been amazing. Instantly soft the day after and after a few goes all my cracks disappear.

Sproutling · Yesterday 09:58

I use Gehwol blue, lovely scent, lovely cream, I also have a foot razor- it shaves off satisfying shreds of skin ( recurring callous on big toes) after a good soak in the bath. I bought it on amazon but cant recall the name or make.
