Another Sandles one - TOMS

I have voucher to use in Schuh so trying to decide what to buy and comfy but nice sandles seem like my best option.

I’ve tried these on and they’re comfortable but I just can’t decide if they actually look ok for not. Only tried on with one outfit that they didn’t go with but maybe ok with other things. I need some with ankle straps really so I can drive happily and walk around a bit more.

what do you think?

I wouldn’t wear those when driving, personally, as the heel could get caught (it’s happened to me before, was properly terrifying). Otherwise, I really like these sandals BUT, if you’re middle aged and, um, not slender and fashionable they will look very frumpy. You may as well go with Hotter. If you fall into the former category they’ll be fine and look very nice. They go well with dresses and trousers I think. Also v comfortable. Either way you’d use up your voucher!

Oh dear. I am, in fact middle aged and not entirely slender. Frumpy is exactly what I was worried about 😥

I've just looked at Schuh but can't see Hotter listed as a brand?

I got these in black last year. Absolutely love them. So comfortable. I wore them all last summer. Did lots of walking in them, including a city break walking miles and NO blisters or rubbing.

In terms of style, my thinking was the black went with everything and they were pretty simple in style so neither highly fashionable nor particularly frumpy. I'm a size 10 for context.

Edited to add, im also middle aged and have no problem driving in them.

Hmmm, sorry op, not loving these. If you are young, tall and thin they will likely look great, as most things would. For the rest of us, they would look a bit frumpy, sorry. There will be better out there. Schuh do Dr Marten and their sandals are awesome and very comfy. I have these in about three different colours.

Hhhmm, interesting perspectives. Ideally I'd just buy some normal sandals without ankle straps as there are much nicer options available but I seem to have a problem keeping mule type shoes on my feet when I walk. They just fling off 😂I have wide feet so you'd think they'd stay on.

I have to say I don't really like the Dr Martens ones because of the chunky sole but maybe I'll go in and try some on. I might prefer them on.

I've just realised how I'm spelling sandals wrong too which has irritated me further.

Hotter won't be in Schuh, they are a brand aimed at 'comfort'. There are a lot of sandals around this year which I think trad a fine line between fashion and Hotter! PPs are right, some sandals you need the style and confidence to pull them off.

Bananananna · 03/06/2026 10:39

Eugh. I wish it was a voucher for Office. They have a much better selection and nicer trainers, if there were no sandals I liked.

Might try and sell the Schuh voucher. I've already had it 6 months and not found anything I liked.

I quite like the Toms sandals you linked to but if you’re not convinced then how about these?
