Wimbledon worry!

DH got us fancy tickets to Wimbledon for a big birthday. It’s an absolute dream and I’m really excited but have eff all to wear and am starting to panic! I seem to have spent ages trawling online but a lot of the current styles (mid calf dresses etc) make me feel frumpy/dowdy (and short!). I just want to look nice enough that I feel smart (not covered in baby sick for once!) and can enjoy the day. I’m fairly petite 5ft 3, size 4-8 depending on the shop, minimal chest, and have tiny feet so shoes are another battle. Help!

How exciting! Might be an idea to report your post and have it moved to Style & Beauty, absolutely loads of lovely knowledgeable people there - have a fabulous time!

Well om going to Wimbledon for the first time ever this year. Just one day and early on in the tournament but still Centre court.

I'm going for the tennis and not for the fashion. So i'll be wearing a fairly standard but nice summer dress and sandals. The aim.being to be comortable

One of the reasons I didn't want tickets for the second week was because I really dislike the emphasis on what people are wearing and - by our experience at Nottingham and Ilkley - alcohol later on at these supposed sporting events

I agree with posting on S&B. Do you know wear your seats are? Some get a lot of sun and therefore I’d adverse something with longer sleeves. There can be a fair bit of queuing/walking as well so comfortable shoes.

Unless you are in a box or being entertained you can wear whatever is most comfortable on the day. Most of the show court seats are undercover but can hold the heat.

I went to Wimbledon last year for the first time- it was fabulous. I wore a comfortable but nice summer dress and sandals I knew I would be comfortable walking in.
There is a wide array of style- some people (the minority) really dress up, and some are very casual. The majority to me were dressed like they were going to a bbq party- they made some effort but not over the top.
As you have posh tickets and it’s a special occasion for you - what about a dress from Boden’s petite collection?

What about a jumpsuit?

I went as a birthday gift a few years ago(50's) - wore a strapless peach /coloured patterned long dress and peach denim jacket. Splurged £150 on a handbag and wore new cream plimsolls... Felt immaculate though probably only to myself!!

What kind of tickets?

I went to the men’s final in a standard seat and wore jeans, sandals and a nice top.
