Primary Prom Dress Ideas

11 year old DD has her primary 7 prom later this month, she's very petite - 140cm and slim, can anyone make recommendations for where to buy a dress?

Primark only seems to have summery-type dresses and while this isn't as formal as a high school prom, these dresses aren't quite fitting the bill. A friend recommended Quiz but everything is too big.

She's not sure on style but is insistent it can't be too 'baby-ish'! Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

Try New Look girls section, lots of dresses although some styles may be too grown up
H&M kids is good for slim fit
Zara kids worth a look, also quite slim
La Redoute comes up slim but takes ages to arrive
Vinted although obviously a risk of it not fitting

Monsoon have some for age 11 labelled prom around £50.

I got DD's from the petite section at New Look.

New look or Lipsy (they stock at next).

Bridesmaid dresses? Monsoon maybe.

(Are primary proms a thing now?)

Thanks all, some good suggestions here.

The last couple of months of primary are wild:

Residential for 3 nights
Prom
SIX high school transition days
School show
Leaver ceremony
Then piped out of school on the last day.

Overall, I'm glad to finally be done with the primary school years!

Whilst DD’s leavers’ party isn’t a prom, they’re all planning to make something of an effort. We found nice things in Monsoon, River Island, New Look and
Lipsy (stocked by Next).

Absolutely agree about being ready for the primary school years to be over; I have gone through all of the events today and booked annual leave so I can attend (in hours, not days thankfully!). I don’t think there is a week when I’m not at school for something. We’re in England, and I love that your DD’s class will be piped out of school on the last day.

I bought DD's dress from Shein - and I've actually been really impressed. I think a lot of her classmates got theirs from there too. It's not a retailer I've used before and obviously it's sweatshop Chinese-made polyester but perhaps so are clothes from the high street.
Matalan kids section had a few nice dresses so might be worth a look but maybe not "glam" enough for prom.

Bershka or Shein

What fresh hell is this? Thank god mine are grown up
