Recommendations for padded bras after double mastectomy

Name Changed as otherwise don’t feel comfortable asking for this.
I need padded bras after a double mastectomy. I know that there are companies specialising in them but I would prefer something different. I don’t want much padding, just an outline under thr T-shirt really.
Trouble is, normal padding expect there to be a breast underneath but I don’t have that.
I find it uncomfortable browsing in person or asking in the shop, so it would be great if I could order online and try at home…

Thank you

I’ve had a smx and think that the specialist companies are a bit spendy. Try Asda George and M&S for post surgery bras and once your a bit further down the road Primark have been one of the better brands for just a T-shirt bra. I mention a bit further down the road as I prefer a underwire and your scar needs to be fully healed for that really.

If you want to go down the prosthesis route, if you haven’t heard of knotted knockers they are great and I think one of the most natural looking as well
as lightweight and soft.

The Breast Care Nurses at the hospital offered me an appt with a bra and prosthesis fitter. She measured me and ordered a special thing that goes inside a pocket in the bra. They were both free so maybe worth asking? Appt was at the hospital and very private. Bras not very comfy though as I was sore for quite a while so couldn’t wear them but you may be offered something different.

You could try a sloggi bra if you are able to put things over your head. They are very soft and have pockets for their padding. You could try exchanging their padding for the Marks and Spencer padded inserts. They are light and will fit into the sloggi pockets.

Sorry M and S site won’t let me copy and paste . Pic below of inserts. They are available in S, M or L.
You have been through a lot. Let your scars heal comfortably before you wear a bra for more than a few hours.
Sending you love. X
