Has anyone found a body moisturiser that helps improve the look of your skin? I’m 57 now and can see my skin’s looking drier. It’s also needs as much help as it can get just to look better.
can anyone recommend something?
thanks

Bottle o butter but it is quite greasy. Or dry oil - aveeno is very effective.

I can 100% recommend dry brushing before you shower it wil help enormously. Too many good moisturisers to mention so my top tip is the dry brushing 👍🏻

Nivea blue pump. I always keep a bottle by the bed, by my desk, by the sofa, in the kitchen and in the bathroom, and I have a travel size in my work bag.

Caudalie Vinosculpt Body Cream is very nice, I also really like the Vaseline Gluta Hya Body Serums - they’re very easy to apply and smells lovely.

Can’t beat Palmer’s Cocoa Butter lotion.

I buy the big pots of Cerave body moisturiser as I have sensitive skin so can't have scents (blue nivea for example is very scented).

Also agree with PP on body brushing. I bought a hand brush from Tiger for £1

I’ve been using Nivea 60 plus for a few months and it has improved the look and feel of my skin. It’s on offer at the moment at Superdrug. I know because I need some more and hate paying full price Smile

AVEENO skin relief, the dark blue one.

CorneliaStreet · 30/05/2026 19:23

I think it’s not so much the product you use, but how consistent you are with it. Body lotion all over once a day and then a second time later in the day for the really dry bits like shins sorted out my dry skin, but I have to keep up with it or the dry skin comes back.

Cetraban or diprobase. Not sexy but amazing moisturising results. Used to be only able to get on prescription but now boots sell it.

Summerhillsquare · 30/05/2026 19:46

Neal's Yard frankincense, the big tub.

Mybrowsaresisters · 31/05/2026 00:44

Nivea blue is brilliant, much better in my opinion than more expensive ones I’ve used.

Yes. I use Nivea Firming Body Lotion and it's helped a great deal. I'm 66.

Almond or argan oil

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 31/05/2026 01:52

The Dove Pro Age lotion is really good. Contains AHAs.

But I agree with the person who said as long as you use a lotion daily you'll see results. I used to hate the idea of being slathered in lotion but now I've realised the key is to not apply too much and to rub vigorously until it's absorbed. Not quite sure why it took so long for that to occur to me!

thewitchisin · 31/05/2026 02:23

Mixa with urea in the tub
dove pro age

Silverbirchleaf · 31/05/2026 05:21

Neutrogena Norwegian formula body mousturiser

piscofrisco · 31/05/2026 05:24

Gatineau. Their golden glow gradual tan is also amazing

muddyford · 31/05/2026 07:19

Aveeno in the bottle with the dark blue label.

PersephoneParlormaid · 31/05/2026 07:21

Dove pro age, I prefer the butter in the pot, it’s lovely. I started using it in my 50’s as the usual moisturisers just weren’t doing it any more, and I used to be a fan of Palmers cocoa butter.

Whyohwhy321 · 31/05/2026 07:25

Since arriving in my mid 50s, my skin is as dry as the Sahara. I've just stumbled upon a shower gel though that has transformed it. The new bayliss n harding ones (can't usually stand B n H, cheap nasty stuff). They're amazing. Smell great and remarkably, without having to use body moisturiser even, my skin is much improved. They're rip offs of the Natrium ones. Vit c and salicylic acid. Can't recommend enough.

sandgrown · 31/05/2026 07:25

I have used body lotion every day since I was a teenager and my skin is still very soft in my 60s . When I was skint I used any old cheap stuff . The key is to be consistent and moisturise at least once a day .

OnceYoureToastYouCanNeverBeBread · 31/05/2026 07:33

This.
It smells weird, it makes my bedding feel funny, I don’t like the feel of it on, BUT the improvement in my crinkly, post menopausal skin has been amazing. I dislike the feel of it so much I only use it once every 2/3 nights after my shower, but the results last days.
