What could I wear under a short spotted dress on holiday?

Hello lovely people

My sister has given me a Abercrombie and Fitch dress, that she left too long to send back afte it was deemed too long ( in her opinion) The dress is a russet colour with white spots, its lined, but has a sort of frill before the end of the dress making it look tiered, its really lovely but it a tad to short for me ( im 5ft 8 and Dsis is 5ft 4!) It comes half way up my thighs when on.
What would you put under it? DD suggested white leggings, but im not sure i can carry a white pair of leggings off! and are they even trendy now?
I would love to wear the dress, I just need somethibg underneath it and hoped someone on here might have some suggestions so I can wear it on our holidays.

I would just wear some chub rub shorts.

Lycra shorts.

I’d just wear boy leg knickers. Or swimmers.

Chub rub shorts, lots of places sell them in skin tone or bright colours. I’ve got some on order from Snag that are supposed to be excellent.

Wear underwear and nothing else? If you wear leggings you will ruin the whole point of wearing the dress.

Thank you all for your replies. I never thought of chub rub shorts, i'll look into them. I think i just feel a little self conscious In a dress and thought it looked a bit short. Dh says it isnt! I shall have a a mooch at the snag website, some funky chub.rub shorts might be just the thing.

I wear just over the knee leggings in a charcoal grey with one of my shorter dresses. I think k it looks quite cool 🤣 The White Stuff sell this length.

I feel your pain. I'm 5'9" but with quite a long torso and larger bust so many short dresses barely cover my arse cheeks and look inappropriate for anywhere but the beach. So frustrating.

I sometimes wear some normal shorts - loose linen types - in a matching colour if I want a dress to look a bit longer - a bit like bloomers 😁
