Which sandals are nicer?

Just wanting to gauge opinions on there please? The black ones are from Clark’s and the others, from White Stuff. It’s imperative that they’re comfortable as I’m disabled but I also want to look smart!
I can’t decide which I prefer. I cannot afford Birkenstocks so these are my next best! Thanks

I don’t like either of them OP. The styles are quite old fashioned. If I were going to go for either of those two, then the black ones.

They are both so different.

Are you buying online ? as I would be in the shop trying them on.

I have spent the last day or 2 looking for smartish but relaxed summer sandals and ordered these in tan / brown this morning. You may not like them but your 2nd pair reminded me of all the sandal scrolling I have been doing! I got them for 69 as there was a discount code

I prefer the black ones but it depends on what you want to wear them with. Ignore any comments about ' old fashioned ' ....its normal for the fashion police to be out full force on mumsnet...if you like them and are comfortable then for goodness sake just please yourself.

Well, the black ones aren't actually "old-fashioned" as they're fisherman-style, which has been in last summer & this. I couldn't find them on Clarks' website, but think they're these ones? And they look better from other angles - not as heavy.

The navy/blue ones are basic walking-style sandals - fine for hiking I suppose, but not what I'd consider smart!

@MyCottageGarden is £55 or thereabouts your maximum budget? And are you going for either black or navy as they'll go with most of your clothes? What sort of stuff do you wear, in what colours, & what's your style - dresses/skirts, or trousers preferred?

Also, re your disability - do you just want something flat with a cushioned sole & enough support across the foot/around the ankle? I ask as there was a recent post by someone who wanted sandals that were Velcro or elastic, not buckled, as she was unable to do them up easily.

Yeah those are the ones. Yeah I just cushioned really. I didn’t think about the buckle though, I wouldn’t struggle with it but it’d be a pain in the bum!

I do not know - I wanted to buy those same two shoe styles but couldn't decide. The black ones from Clarkes and the others from Tevas.
Give me a choice of more than one and it's too much for me.
Sorry not helpful.

Gettingbysomehow · 28/05/2026 13:08

Get both.

What do fashionable sandals look like ? Are there any comfortable ones?
OP don't worry about comments about fashion as it is subjective anyway.
Try on both and see which feel more comfortable to walk in. In my experience if I am comfortable I look better anyway.
I have some fit flip sandals. I have no idea if they are fashionable but I can wear them all day and not feel as though I am wearing shoes they are extremely comfortable

i'm saying this as someone who really doesn't like sandals but they're actually ok!

beasmithwentworth · 28/05/2026 13:35

@MiddleAgedDread they arrived yesterday and I love them… plus the added bonus of them having a really soft but supportive sole. I feel like I am walking on air / wearing slippers

ObsessiveGoogler · 28/05/2026 13:37

I'm normally a fan of White Stuff (controversial on S and B I know!) but find their shoes are uncomfortable and don't wear well.
