Lily and Me

I thought Id try Lily and me as they desccribe themselves as a luxury clothing brand and had two things I wanted.
Im a standard easy fit size 10.
They were so badly finished I was shocked. The denim style shirt was made of paper thin fabric that ceased horribly. No way could I sit in a car in it. It would look like a rag in 5 seconds. All the button hole threads came out when I undid the buttons. The seams werent finished properly.
The other one was a breton tunic. Again it fit after a fashion but the fabric was cheap to look at and feel. The back was shorter than the front and it clung in all the wrong places.
The neckline was ridiculously wide and looked awful.
How any of this stuff can be described as a luxury product I dont know.
Im sending it all back. Ive bought higher quality clothing on tik tok shop.
I really wanted to like this brand too but it is not luxury. I know cheap fabrics and poor craftsmanship when I see it.
Has anyone else tried anything from them?

Yeah, I've bought a couple of their jackets. But I've bought them from a local stockist so I can try on first and get a feel for the fabric. No complaints, quality and fit as expected - but then I'm not expecting luxury, they're run of the mill basics. Do they actually claim to be a luxury brand?

You'll have to show me where it says that, because I can't find it. It's all about sustainable, affordable everyday fashion, from what I can see.

But anyway, it's bad that you're disappointed - is it too late to return what you've bought?

No Im going yo return them. I just wish there were shops locally sp I can try things on but Im out in the sticks. I think Im going to have to do a yearly trip to a big shopping centre or something.

Have they gone downhill?
I’ve got several of their tops, tunics and skirts via Vinted (so probably a bit older) which are all lovely and great quality.

Not tried lily & me but your post reminded me of Oddmuse.. look lovely in photos etc and not cheap but all the fabric is neoprene! Also describe themselves as luxury. Mostly Chinese suppliers I believe. Not saying they are not talented but it’s hardly supporting artisanal garment production techniques which I would expect from ‘luxury’ at those prices. 🫠

I'd never heard of this brand until a couple of months ago, when my local department store started stocking it. I was quite impressed with how they looked, but I didn't try anything on. They looked reasonable quality, but they certainly don't market themselves as luxury - they are in the same category as White Stuff/Seasalt/Fat Face.

I bought quite a bit from Lily & Me when they first launched. It was all lovely quality, not too expensive and lasted me years. A shop in my local high street has a rail of their stock and agree it's so cheaply made now - they use that weird stretchy material that doesn't hang or wash well.

Isn't it a shame so many previously good brands like this are producing such poor quality stuff now. I recently bought some nice T shirts and shirts in a similar style to Lily & Me in TK Maxx - they are continental brands which are using much better quality material.
