John Lewis Personal Stylist recommendations in the Midlands and choosing a stylist

Hi,
Has anyone used the John Lewis Personal Stylist service in any of the Midlands Stores? MK, Leicester, Cambs, Notts Solihull? Or even London?
when looking to book you can choose your stylist but wondering if it is best to look for someone with similar style or totally different?
I’m totally stuck in a rut of jeans and T-shirts and have lost all my personal style. I’ve hit my 40s and have suddenly gain 2 stone taking me from a size 10/12 to 14/16. I feel old, frumpy and a bit of a mess. I have no idea what suits me anymore and in a weird age bracket where clothes feel too young or too old for me.
I would love to hear Any recommendations or thoughts if you have used the styling service.
thanks

I'm not in the same area but have used the service twice (also in my 40s). Had two different stylists, both picked due to matching availability rather than particularly for their style.

I found both times really useful at getting me out of a rut. They got me trying on things that I wouldn't have looked twice at on the peg, showed me how to artfully tuck tops into trousers, introduced me to different types of shoe, etc. Both times, I ended up buying more than I thought I would!
