Are clogs comfortable?

I have an overwhelming urge for some clog sandals, but my needs are very specific. Before I go on the hunt I would like to know if it’s worth it! I know it depends on the style but I’m thinking more about the wooden sole.

I've got some beautiful Swedish clogs with a wooen sole. The look fabulous on and are comfortable but bloody lethal, I can't trust myself to wear them again in case I break my neck the next time I trip up .
