Another sandals one

I need some tan leather shoes for summer. I honesty don't like sandals all that much, don't want to spend much, and therefore can't decide whether I like these enough to buy 'em.

I realise soles have gone all flat again this year but I like my feet to be well off the ground. These aren't wood, they're TPR, a bouncy rubber substitute.

I like them but I cant wear anything from Clarkes with an ankle strap because they always dig in in the wrong places. Have you tried them on...or buying online?
Since they started making Clarkes in China Im finding the fit isnt right.

Interesting, thanks. Online. I have other Clark's shoes and find them OK in general. I'm not afraid of punching new holes in awkward straps!

I’d wear those with wide leg jeans or flared alongside other items to help with a 70s look

ladyrinths · 22/05/2026 07:54

I don’t really like them but depending on age & lifestyle we often have different needs.

Holdinguphalfthesky · 22/05/2026 07:59

I like them. I like 70s style though! These could look awesome with Stevie Nicks skirts or flares.

Eucatastrophilia · 22/05/2026 10:02

To my eyes they’d make anything one wears look unfashionable - so they wouldn’t be my choice. (I don’t know why, exactly - just expressing what I see.)

iris1000 · 22/05/2026 18:24

I quite like them, I do like that 70s look. I’d never get sandals again though that have that moleskin / fake suede type sole. They really stink after a while from sweaty feet and you can’t really get rid of it (or maybe it’s just me, I don’t generally have smelly feet though).

NoGarlic · 22/05/2026 18:37

I still haven't made my mind up! I'm liking the '70s reference - and all my trousers have flappy legs, though I'm not well supplied with boho skirts.

I ordered them. Yes + Meh came to a large majority, and I'm not up to scouring the web for a better option 😏 Thank you all!

I did actually wear almost identical sandals in the 70s when I was a teenager. I loved those shoes to death. I feel quite nostalgic now 😅

Backonthejab · 22/05/2026 22:29

Thanks for sharing these...I bought a pair! Love them.
