Looking for ideas for floaty, cool fabric summer two pieces.

As a perimenopausal woman I have not enjoyed the last few summers one little bit. Where I live in the UK it always feels so oppressively hot and sticky here.

I am fairly slim but with an up and down figure and no waist definition. I really dislike wearing dresses as they make me feel figure-less and frumpy. I prefer a nice loose two piece of top (with little sleeves to hide my non toned arms) and loose fitting/floaty trousers, that would be my ideal. A matching maxi skirt at a push.

But every time I Google I'm bombard with outfits from Temu, Shein and posh sounding London stores which turn out to be Chinese sellers with terrible reviews. Some of these items look lovely but I've fallen for that trap before and they are all made from horrible cheap and sweaty materials.

Any suggestions for nice loose fitting but fashionable summer two pieces which won't break the bank?

Goodness - you can’t just google for stylish clothes!

What’s your budget?

Aligne?

Tbh, although there’s plenty of ‘floaty’ stuff about, there is a danger of too much of it in one outfit looking dowdy - crisp, oversized structure looks a bit more ‘now’.

I paid an unexpected visit to TK Maxx (Taunton) yesterday and it's rammed to the gills with lovely loose linen and cotton shirts and loose trousers under about £25! If I hadn't been feeling ill I'd have hauled home half a dozen, but I did manage to try on one pair of linen trousers and buy them and I'm planning a trip back. Honestly if you can get to a TK Maxx I think you'll find things. With the massive added advantage of seeing them in the flesh and trying them on. 😂
