After many years of thinking about it (and after losing 8.5 stone) I’ve finally booked my surgery. I’ll be having a lower body lift and thigh lift in December.
I’m flying to Turkey to have the procedure done with a leading plastic surgeon who specialises in massive weight loss patients.
I’m not too worried about surgery abroad, as I previously had both a gastric sleeve and breast uplift done overseas, and thankfully, both experiences went really smoothly.
What I am worried about is the recovery. Thankfully, work has agreed to 3 weeks off to recover, which I’m really grateful for.
I’d love to hear from anyone else who has had similar surgery after major weight loss, especially a lower body lift or thigh lift. How was your recovery? Was there anything you wish you’d known beforehand?
I had originally been following a surgeon in the USA who is considered one of the best, but at £35k, it just wasn’t financially realistic for me.
This feels like a huge step, but also the final part of a really long journey.
