I think theyre lovely but absolutely not worth the money. Ive got some very similar looking silver earrings that I bought in my local market a few years ago for a tenner.

Roundhands · 19/05/2026 20:41

They look very easy to lose too!

maudelovesharold · 19/05/2026 20:41

Oh my goodness! I love them, but not so much that I’d pay that for them! If you can afford it without bankrupting yourself, then go for it!

upsofloating · 19/05/2026 20:41

Thanks, Growlybear83. I think I agree.

Yes, though after losing some favourites I now have those tiny silicone tubes which keep them on. Game changer. But still . . .

Agree. I thought they would be about £30, tops!

They also look like snakes.

Sidebeforeself · 19/05/2026 20:47

They are a bit “ meh” but the price isn’t!

What do you think of these, and do you think they're worth the money?

They are much cheaper than the Georg Jenson pair I'm lusting after so in that sense they could be worth it.

upsofloating · 19/05/2026 20:49

Very useful answers - thanks, everyone.

I have been trying to justify buying these for a while now. May be one day.....

Those are beautiful.

The fitting that goes through the ear looks very cheap indeed.

MrsCarmelaSoprano · 20/05/2026 00:15

I have lots of JGT earrings and they absolutely do not look like they could be a tenner off a market . The quality is amazing and it's the only silver that doesn't tarnish. When dh asks me what I want for gifts I always direct him to the website and say 'anything!' If you love them and can afford them I don't think you'll regret it.

I love them but with that ear fitting I’d lose them easily, I need something with a clip on it. Any chance you could have them adjusted by a local jeweller?

Ffffff886 · 20/05/2026 10:39

The thing is if they are handmade in the uk you cannot expect the lower prices of big retailers with massive and established factories in China. I don't know how technically difficult those earrings are but UK made, artisan made are always 3x+ times the price of a Shein or Next equivalent.
I would not but them because my hair would tangle in them, I can just see it. I don't know their retailer but it reminded me of museum shops jewellery that have very expensive artsy pieces. They want a certain client where £180 is like £18 to them.
They look like they could be £12 or £320 depending on who is wearing them and how.

I live close to the JGT workshop. The man is a master craftsman and his jewellery incredible quality (and no, I don't work for him!). Absolutely worth the investment.

Just use a little plastic back stopper.
