New top but where does this bit go?

As above! Bought this today whilst killing time so didn’t try it on until I got home. I really like it but where does this long bit go?! No help on the website as can’t find this particular top.

Any suggestions welcome please!

Is it to go around your decotallage (excuse the spelling) but tied as a bow?

SilenceInside · 19/05/2026 12:17

Where is the top from?

Huckleberries · 19/05/2026 12:20

I think it's meant to be used like a skinny scarf

so tie it round your neck, however you please

SilenceInside · 19/05/2026 12:23

As to what you do with that bit, tie a bow that sits on your shoulder?

Huckleberries · 19/05/2026 12:36

How long is it?

It seems a shame to tie it round your waist because you've got that nice asymmetry going on

I do think the intention is for it to go round the neck but that rather spoils the nice neck line too

I suppose it depends if you like the skinny scarf thing. I like it in some context, but I don't like bows. That's just me though.

Does it come out without upsetting the garment? That's another option.

Oh yes, that would be much better than a central one

Ineffable23 · 19/05/2026 12:40

I'd try a bow on my shoulder and if I didn't like that I would just unpick it!

Shoesformetoo · 19/05/2026 12:42

I'd take the top back or as pp has said unpick it!

AtomicBlondeRose · 19/05/2026 12:47

Where is it from?

littlebabycheeses99 · 19/05/2026 13:06

Is it H&M? If so it's a scarf collar top, so goes round your neck!

littlebabycheeses99 · 19/05/2026 13:08

or they also have a draped cold-shoulder top and the scarf just hangs down!

CloudPop · 19/05/2026 13:16

It’s a nice top but that bit is weird. I’d cut it off (or unpick it, which would of course be the correct way of doing it )

TFImBackIn · 19/05/2026 13:26

Look for it on the shop's website and see what they do with it - and then show us!

FeelingSadToday1 · 19/05/2026 14:42

Thank you all! It is from primark. It caught my eye whilst walking through.

It touches the floor so very long but not long enough to tie around my waist. I will try some things with it tomorrow and let you know. Worst case I will cut it off/unstitch it as it looks like it wont be obvious.

I cant find it on the website @TFImBackIn, that is the first thing I did.

Use it to lasso men in bars.

I think it'll look better if you wear it as it's designed - pushed down off one shoulder. It's not intended to be worn straight across. You need to emphasise the asymmetry, & then tying it at the opposite shoulder should work.

(Though as an aside it really annoys me that the stylist didn't bother poking the hanger loop back inside in the first photo - it's hanging out of the top! I hate those anyway & always cut them off for that very reason.)
