Whitby goth weekend

FutureGoth · Today 11:39

I'm actually going at long last in October. I've wanted to for years.
Has anyone been? Were there many there just dressed as goths did in the 80s? I don't want to go OTT or dress in Halloween gear. Although I have lots of Halloween outfits and wigs so maybe that'd be easier?(and save money)
I've watched YouTube videos and seen pics on Facebook but they all seem to have gone to so much effort.

Dh is just going to wear black and some guyliner and maybe a hat?
I'm probably just being overexcited. I have 2 abroad holidays and a house move before this but staying the weekend in whitby for this is forefront in my mind atm. I've been and stayed a lot before just never the goth weekend. Grown dcs and partners are coming too. I don't know if they're dressing up?

Any dress ideas welcome. TIA

Ive been several times but Im not a goth. I did dress up in standard goth gear though. You've got everything there, 80s style goths, pastel goths, victorian goths, latex goths, a lot of people in terrible wigs, cyber goths, you can wear anything you want really. A huge amount of trans people for some reason. Steam punks of course. Loads of people just want to strut their stuff. Its good fun.

Are you a goth or are you just dressing up as one?

Look on Killstar, VoodooVixen, Hell Bunny, Grindstore and Attitude.
Have a great time. Good luck with the move.

I've been, loads of people dressed up and goths of course, first year we went just in normal clothes but I do lean towards that in every day dressing. I love seeing all the victoriana style dresses and I have one myself now, I don't wear wigs, I just wear loads of mascara and eyeliner as my skin is sensitive now. Hope you have a great time !
