Im 5ft but petite is sometimes too short for me. Crop jeans dont work as they are the wrong length completely.

Am short and fat and wide leg jeans make me look bigger.

I hate skinny jeans.

And I dont like them with stretch as they start to fall down too easily.

I just want a pair of comfy straitish leg jeans.

No barrels, bootleg, girlfriend etc etc.

Am nearly 60 too.

Have you tried Snag jeans? The company is really good at fitting.

Try Crew Clothing - I got some short straight leg, proper denim ones there I’m 5ft 1in.

As a petite I’ve always found Tesco F&F jeans the perfect length (I go between size 12-16 and also 5’0) they have lots of styles and are forgiving after a heavy meal 😅

Thanks all

I was wondering what m&s or next are like, I have both nearby

The only thing that puts me off tesco is there's no fitting room to try anything on

I struggle with M&s jeans even though Im 5 foot five and size 10. They are always too tight, too loose, too long, too short and the waists are too high. I should be easy to fit but they make me feel like a circus freak.
I dont know who they fit....aliens. i spent a Saturday half day struggling in their fitting rooms and when I finally found some that fit they only had them in long.

I’ve just bought Halara jeans and absolutely love them, they do different lengths and many different styles.

M&S sizing and lengths are all over the place these days but they do Extra Short in most jeans and trousers - have a look online

JacknDiane · 17/05/2026 21:37

Extra short would be too short. Sometimes petit is even too short.

I think M&S sienna short / petite might be what you’re looking for.

Not the extra short from what you’ve said but lucky you must have longer legs! I’m 5 foot and I definitely need the extra short

JacknDiane · 18/05/2026 11:13

Thanks, I'll have a look at m&s, I dobt know the other makes here and I wanted to try instore instead of buying online.

And I don't like them with stretch as they start to fall down too easily. Wear a belt.

I like Tu jeans. They fit my bum without being baggy in the back of my waist. I am 5’3” and their short jeans are the right length for me. I find M&S “short” sizes are too long.

Tu straight leg jeans
