How to update wardrobe when overweight!

Looking for advice on how to embrace current clothing trends when you’re overweight! I’m a size 16 on bottom, 14 on top - lots of weight on my stomach. I am still wearing black leggings and fleeces most of the time or skinny jeans and a fitted jumper or t shirt. Dresses seem to be all baggy and just make me look even more huge. Jeans and baggy t shirts and jumpers same - barrel jeans were the worse! I’d love to update my clothes but just can’t figure out how the overweight do it. Most of the women I’m around are v thin (professional workplace) or if overweight seem to be similar to me.

I mainly shop next online for convenience and Tesco. Money isn’t massively an issue for clothes but I live in hope of losing 2 stone and then purchasing the more expensive stuff so I don’t really want to spend a lot on clothes right now (however my motivation to lose weight is at zero.)

any advice/help?

The best thing to do is work out your body type and go from there, I've got big boobs and hold weight on my tummy, my legs are slim and I have slim hips. I tend to wear wide leg jeans and trousers, shirt dress with tie belts so they flatter my boobs but can be tied close around my waist. My worst things to wear are high necks, shapeless dresses that just hang off my boobs, body con styles, boxy things. I always try to create a waist, wear v necks, trousers that hug my waist and hips then flare out. For me it's all about creating an hour glass shape.

Also don't wait until you lose weight to wear nice things. You'll only feel worse and will then probably lose all self esteem. Buy things you like, if you do happen to lose weight get them taken in or replace. Live for now.

Definitely have a few complete outfits per season. On trend color to wear with your leggings or jeans. On trend shoes and bag always fit. One nice dress regardless of your size.
