Comfortable black back strap sandals that do not rub

I’m sure this topic has been done to death but I can’t find any sandals that I’m happy with.

My requirements are

  • black
  • back strap
  • comfy
  • don’t rub

Happy to spend up to £130 for the right pair!

I’ve got cheap new look ones which are comfy but they do rub, my dr marten sandals are too clunky and they rub and I’ve got some Moshulu ones that are very comfy but they don’t do the style I like in black.

I tried Birkenstocks with a back strap in Schuh but I didn’t find them all that comfy

I have the Gracie’s linked above and can confirm that they are very comfortable. I’d buy them again in a heartbeat if they brought them out in the red they’re doing this year.

I also have the Gracies (found them half price on Amazon last year) and I like them but I would say that they are quite narrow. I ended up sizing up and now my feet slip around a bit

I also find Saltwater comfortable especially the Boardwalk ones with a thicker sole

Thank you! I am going to try the fit flop Gracie sandals. I like the look of salt water but the soles look terribly thin (even the boardwalk ones).

Never bought from them myself but a friend of mine lives in Penelope Chilvers sandals in summer? I’ve seen a lovely tan pair there that I can’t afford (!!) in a style called Buttercup… might have them (or others) in black.

I was also going to recommend FitFlop. All their shoes are comfy I have a few of their sandals.

I tried Saltwater but find them too thin with no arch support.

Do they need to be leather / smart? My black Tevas fit your criteria but they have webbing / Velcro straps and aren’t work-appropriate, for example!
