Time for another thread. Spring and Summer releases are trickling out to tempt us AND the advent calendar waitlists are appearing...hope you are all feeling suitably Christmassy. 😂

I just checked out the JL GWP as had forgotten contents but can see PK Elasticizer must have put me off! I do like the Dermalogica product but have one open and a spare already.

I’ve just had a panic when you mentioned that you can’t find things to make up a £250 basket because my order was only £202. But I’ve just checked and the gwp is added and included but it looks like they may have taken the value for the baskets before the discounts have been applied.

After saying I could hardly smell the Tana Meadow fragrance on me, I have just purchased an 8ml one on Vinted. My thinking is that the tiny sample bottle might not have given enough of a spritz! 😆 I have just sold the Halfeti from the JL box so I just see it as a replacement!

I am resisting the gwps too. I really shouldn’t spend £200-£300 on beauty bits that I really don’t need, just to get more beauty bits that I don’t need! 😂

It’s been ages since I’ve succumbed to GWP. I’ve calmed down a lot this year on spending on beauty bar blush and lip products which I HAVE to stop buying as it’s ridiculous. I think GWPs have lost their lustre for me now, extremely high level spend coupled with tiny products. So different compared to five years ago. I’m being much choosier about edits too, I have to want everything in it. The last edit I got was the Lisa potter Dixon CB day edit which sold out quite quickly and that was a brilliant purchase.
I also feel that CB etc could be better and give out samples etc, in fact all beauty retailers could do. The other issue is endless
delivery issues unless it’s with royal
mail. It’s off putting really!

I just blew all my Liberty credit on a handbag in the sale but at least it saves me from more beauty purchases I (probably) don’t need!

I used the Chanel Le Beiges Glow foundation sample again today. This time with no primer or sunscreen underneath. It's a stunning foundation and I've got no pilling issues now I've dispensed with the under products.

I'm tempted to add it to my want list but I would need to find a sunscreen it doesn't argue with otherwise I'd be limited as to when I could wear it. I think I could maybe get 1-2 more wears out of the sample so I'll try it again with a different sunscreen if I can.

I don't need it as I've got numerous foundations and some I equally really love, which are less fussy about what goes underneath. It is probably an itch I'll have to scratch at some point though.

@BakeOffRewatch The Toteme T-Lock Clutch in brown suede with silver hardware. I already have it in black leather with gold hardware and it’s one of my favourite bags, so I’m fairly confident I’ll keep it although some photos show the brown as a lot lighter so I’ll have to see when it arrives!

@OvaHere which foundation is that one? Is it the one with the balls? I have a Chanel one in my Harrods basket that I'm not sure if I'm going to check out on. I want a nice low / medium coverage that's light for my holiday but I don't want something that I can't layer with SPF. I'm tempted to get the refy one, I should've bought it last week when I could've got 4 free samples from snk, now there's only 1 sample available 😐
I bought the Gucci skin tint from Tkmaxx and it's quite heavy with not much coverage. I'm not impressed. I'm wearing it today and it's cakey too.

I have the one with the balls already. That's great and doesn't argue with anything. Very light coverage but probably good for a holiday.

The Les Beiges Glow one is more towards a med coverage.

I bought the Gucci tint when it came out last year. It's awful. I've given it a couple of chances but it's cakey and slides of my face after a couple of hours.

Ah interesting! I used the balls one when I was in London and really liked it. I might just buy that one then.

Sounds like the Gucci tint is going to end up in the abandoned foundation pile then 😔

Oh dear. Harrods and JL baskets now full and waiting. But I think needs to be one or the other and I’m leaning towards Harrods for the bag. And also because the JL edit makes up part of my JL spend, and I’m not really that excited about it. Whereas the Harrods basket includes the NARS highlighter at 20% discount. Both have aqua di gioa at the same price.

in the meantime, I managed to spend over £1000 on liberty sale without buying a single beauty item because I couldn’t find the GWP and assumed it had finished?! Two handbags on their way, some new adidas trainers and some cute adidas liberty print clothing for my niece.

I have the Chanel Beiges Water Fresh Complexion Touch with the micro-beads (60% water) and can recommend it - it's my favourite lightweight foundation. I'm quite fair skinned and opted for shade B30, a medium shade which works well. I don't use the little brush to apply it though, I just use my fingers.

The water fresh tint also has micro-droplets, but gives a lighter coverage (80% water). I haven't tried that one but might give it a try. Boots have 15% off Chanel makeup at the moment - online only.

The Lisa Eldridge x Marilyn Monroe highlighters look interesting… glad I spent my Liberty credit so cannot be easily tempted!

Harrods order placed. The 20% discount on pretty much everything I actually wanted to buy (and a few things I didn’t need but caught my eye) swung it easily in the end! Now I need to ignore the JL offer for a while. Have placed massive Liberty and All Saints orders too, and a big Myprotein shipment just arrived!

There’s normally a Harrods GWP in the autumn ??

I'm tempted. It's not long since I bought the HG and the TF highlighter though so it would be a totally unneeded purchase.

None of the lipstick shades are my thing so I can pass on the rest of the collection.

I have the Gucci tint and quite like it! But I can't say how long it lasts because I work from home and haven't left the house much since January because of my knee. Maybe it's more suited to hermits?

I’m not even looking at GWP. I have also resisted the M&S edit.

I picked up my bargain Floral Street AB perfume from TKMAXX yesterday and am still waiting for my JL Jo Malone 9ml with the £10 off.

Both are being kept for Xmas.

Apart from those two purchases I have been quite virtuous on the beauty front this month and am focusing on using stuff up.

I am also trying to avoid bringing even more minis into the house - I swear they are breeding - every time I use one up, another five appear, seemingly out of nowhere 🙈

I’ll start - my Harrods order was a Dior Maximizer, Victoria Beckham eyeliner, Chanel les beiges touch and then Tatcha minis to make the spend - my order was exactly £250.
I placed a couple of Liberty orders, I bought the Caroline Hirons founders kit and then one order I added a Violette fr lip jelly balm and the other was a Westman Atelier lipliner.

My JM 9ml arrived today - it’s beautifully packaged!
