Facial toning devices to lift and tighten - do they work?

I'm mid 50s and want to know if any of the toning devices work for skin that is sagging? I'm not particularly wrinkly but I'm starting to feel like my face is sagging, as though the skin is no longer as tightly attached to me as it used to be. Has anyone had any success tightening things up with any of the devices? I'm thinking here of things like Zip HALO, Lux Cove, Nu Face etc.

I already do face tightening exercises myself and also work on muscle and fascia release - just before those are suggested!

Thank you.

Sali Hughes (Guardian beauty expert) did a few Instagram posts on these devices. She thought the Ziip Halo was most effective one but it's really expensive and reviews are quite mixed.

The Lux cove is so cheap in comparison to the others and it's promoted everywhere but again I've read mixed reviews. I recall there was a post about it on here.

I have filler these days which holds up my saggy jowls but would much prefer to use a toning device if they were anywhere near as effective.

Thank you @itsnothingoriginal ! I've been looking at Déesse Pro Sculpta, which seems to get decent reviews. Everything looks loose and jiggly on the lower half of my face and I've started to notice a turkey wattle thing happening under my chin. I think if I put filler in there, it would hang like a pendulous throat testicle.

Oh Dear Lord, 'pendulous throat testicle' what a fabulous description!

Ohhh I can so relate 🤣

The filler actually goes in my cheeks and hauls it all back up again. The turkey wattle was exactly why I got so desperate and got filler as mine happened earlier than my friends of the same age (genetics 🙄)

I haven't heard about Deesse pro sculpta - interesting! Will take a look....

Aha @itsnothingoriginal that makes more sense. I do cheek toning exercises but it clearly isn't enough. I look at the women of my age (or older) in magazines and on TV etc and marvel at how they still have taught defined jaw lines. I was trying clothes on in a shop changing room last week and they had those angled mirrors for side & rear profile viewing and I couldn't concentrate on the clothes for the eye-catching ripple of jaw skin!

@MurphysColeslaw - if only it weren't the image that sprang into my mind!!!! 😂

I was blow drying my hair yesterday and noticed for the first time that the hairdryer makes my skin ripple. I quite fancy the Foreo Bear.

MargoLivebetter · 11/05/2026 19:43

@Smallorveryfaraway yup, it’s the ripple that is just too much! Shall go and check out the device you mentioned.

I’ve got the pro sculptra. And whilst I like using it, I feel it’s a bit of a faff compared to something like my LED mask so probably only use 1/2 times a week.
If I’m honest, I’d save your money!
Im mid 40s for reference.

I've used the foreo bear about a year. The effect is v subtle but enough that I'm motivated to do it. I cranked it up to max strength more recently and that seems to have finally had a very slight effect on my jaw.

Girlintheframe · 14/05/2026 14:26

I tried the Foreo Bear, sadly it didn’t make any difference to my face.

I ordered the Sculptra Deesse Pro!!!!! I found it discounted at an online outlet. It arrived this morning and I've used it once. I'll let you know if I rejuvenate. I took a really unpleasant close up photo, so that I can monitor the results and not delude myself.
