Clarkes shoes.

Why are Clarkes shoes so awful lately? Ive had to return no less than three pairs of shoes I bought online for events. Im 5 and a half E and sometimes EE depending on the brand.
I used to rely on Clarkes to get shoes that fit.
The two pairs of sandals were enormous and the ankle straps were so uncomfortable I couldnt walk in them. The shoes were so tight they cut my circulation pff and everything I tried on in the shop when I went to the nearest town to return them were hard and uncomfortable and just not flattering with straps in the wrong place. Awful. I dont think I can shop there any more. So disapointing.
Has anyone else noticed this? I can get better wide fit half sizes on Amazon for far less money.

I never buy shoes online so I don't have that issue. Always try on first.

They are shoes I hope I can actually get my awkward squad sized feet into. No not old lady shoes if I can help it.
Im very slim but my feet are EE so its difficult to find shoes that fit well and dont look like something my granny would wear.

As my post says I went into the shop to return them and try other stuff on but they have clearly changed sulpliers recently because they were all awful.

Perhaps they have, I find nothing good ever stays the same.

I still find some of their styles very comfortable, but I take a D or E fitting. But their sizing seems to be totally unpredictable, which I imagine is caused by them using multiple suppliers/manufacturers. Even in shoes or sandals of the same basic style, I veer between taking a 4.5 to 6.

Recently I was trying to convince myself that some boots in a Clarks store were okay really, that they'd give out once worn etc. Sensibly I didn't get them, then went into Schuh and found a similar pair, much cheaper, but which fitted like a dream and were so comfortable from the off.

Last time I was in Clarks to buy school shoes, I was talking to a staff member and she said that Clarks shoes are now made in China and are no longer the quality they used to be. I don't buy school shoes there anymore.

No, not you being old, the way you wrote it with an extra E

I’ve found their sizing is off. I take size 36 which is 3.5. The shoes I bought recently came in sizes 3, 4, 5, etc. I ordered the 3 only to find it’s a 35.5 and so slightly too small - I ordered the 4 and it was huge. So the gap between the 3 and 4 is more than one size. In other words they don’t make shoes in my size anymore.

The last pair I ordered a couple of years were a size 36 and fitted perfectly.

I’m running out of shoe options now as LK Bennett and Russell & Bromley have sadly gone.

Same. Ive had some luck on amazon. They are doing a lot of half sizes and wide now if you can find the filters. Im not mad on hotter because their shoes have such rounded ends.
