Prom shoes help!

Hi, dd is wearing a full length tulle skirt prom dress, and doesn't want to wear heels because she never wears them. Are flats quite popular now given the shift away from heels generally? Going to shop for some sparkly flats but just checking if other girls are doing similar?

I know when my DD went to her Prom, her and her mates all discussed what they were wearing and who was wearing what colour ( didn't want two people in the group wearing the same dress! )
DD had a lilac/grey beaded dress ( nicer than it sounds ) and pewter sandals with a slight heel

One thread I read last year , the girls all wore new white Converse with ribbons to match their dresses instead of laces , which sounded great !
If it's anything like my DS and DD Prom night they'll be dancing and running about the gardens to find the best photo spot /.
