Help with serum

I haven’t really bothered with serums until recently. I have tried some of the multi step skincare from places like the ordinary but I really just want one that targets as much as possible. I thought about the Clarins one but it’s too expensive. I tried the Olay all in one and I have recently been trying a L’Oréal all in one that is two serums, pumped together so a bit like Clarins.

Both the Olay and the L’Oréal have made my face feel lovely and soft but also dry and it feels like it’s lacking moisture and any sort of glow.

I am 54 so not sure what else to try unless I go back to multisteps which I am not keen to do, ie lazy and lacking time?

I have tried loads but always always go back to Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. I don’t think it’s doing anything and then when I don’t use it for a while I really see that my skin is worse.

I also repeat buy the Boots line correcting booster serum - the one that looks like an injector pen. It’s got matrixyl in it and it’s fantastic for your 11s - again I notice the difference when I don’t use it.

A good cheapie is not a serum but an oil - rosehip oil purchased from Holland & Barrett or somewhere like that. V good.

Are you using a moisturiser on top of your serum? A serum alone won’t make your face feel moisturised.

I like Beauty of Joseon rice probiotic SPF 50 as a very light day cream over serum. And any facial oil or ceramide cream as a night cream.

Yes, I use a moisturiser. Twice a day. I think I will use the L’Oréal once a day and see if that helps. Just cleanse, tone and moisturise in the morning and leave the serum for at night. It’s may be too much.

I will look at your suggestions. Thank you for helping.
