oh. My. God.
(Was just posting on another thread and realised it probably deserved one of its own.)

I have had all really expensive sense( think of all the labels )and normally turn my nose up at cheap ones thinking they don't last, but I can tell you these ones do.
it's got to the point when I get so many nice compliments about it that I've started laughing because they're almost so predictable.

I would reckon at least three comments a day and often in the afternoon when I've had the thing on all day!
I've got the fashionably in London one, I had seen it reviewed online. - thought I'd give it a whirl for £35.
I'm not so wild about it... it's okay but the effect on other people is extraordinary!

I had a sniff of the New York one and thought I preferred that, but not not sure now if I want to risk it 😀

They smell nice and are good dupes of others. Fashionably London dupe for Delina and New York is said to be a dupe for Santal 33. They don’t last very long in my experience though and aren’t that cheap. I prefer Noted Aromas for affordable dupes, they last longer than Zara perfumes.

awfulapril · 05/05/2026 05:17

£35? Massive bottle. That's cheap.
also disagree about the longevity. I was at a beauticians after a long day at work and she could still smell it.

Just my personal experience.

I’ve got the Tokyo one and constantly get compliments on how nice I smell.

It lasts all day on my too - Especially the intense version.

canyon2000 · 05/05/2026 16:00

I think I've had most of them over the years! I'm on Dubai at the moment which is very nice. Also a big fan of Tokyo and Singapore.
Eta Shanghai not Singapore!

Ohh I've been to two stores trying to find this Tokyo one. Please could you tell me what it smells like?! I know it's not exact over the internet haha, but I'm on a budget and I'd be so disappointed if it's not nice, so any advice would be amazing ❤️

Edited to add @canyon2000 would love your input too on the Tokyo one please?

awfulapril · 05/05/2026 17:50

Knowing how JM works, I would be surprised if any of them are outright copies

I'm not great at describing smells but it is a lovely Jasmine scent. I find they last very well. I can still smell the Dubai perfume I sprayed on this morning.

Yes, I tried the Tokyo one and did not like it at all and unfortunately, you could still smell it the next morning

Edited

I'll try London and New York next time I'm in a store. I've only got half a bottle of Dubai left so I need to start thinking about what I get next!

Uricon2 · 16/05/2026 13:44

Thanks to this thread I ordered the Fashionably London Elixir version and at first spray immediately thought of some older Juliette Has A Gun, specifically the much missed (by me) Mad Madame. Checking, it has some of the same notes, rose, peony, patchouli so not surprising!

Very impressed so far, my skin swallows perfume like a black hole so we'll see, but at the price it doesn't matter so much and I really like it.

@awfulapril thank you!

awfulapril · 16/05/2026 13:50

Yay!! New York is on its way

I have the London one and have received lots of compliments.

Uricon2 · 16/05/2026 13:53

Also a bit impressed with Zara, I paid for £4.95 for next day delivery, came the day after and they've refunded the whole postage cost unasked, even though it was a Royal Mail issue rather than a Them one.

It’s not that cheap. It’s half the price of a designer fragrance but it’s still £35 for something that costs £2 to make.

awfulapril · 16/05/2026 21:35

so make your own then?
Its a massive bottle

well that’s retail for you lovely.
Least us Zara lovers are no longer spending £100s on something that costs a fraction of that to produce

JMSA · 16/05/2026 22:53

I love a Zara perfume 😊

That's like saying a painting by an artist only costs £3 to make when you add up canvas ink etc obviously you are paying for the creative skills of the person creating it same with perfume.

awfulapril · 17/05/2026 14:13

New York is here. I'll wear to work tomorrow and see what the reaction is
