What are you go to comfortable jeans petite thick thigh girls?

I'm 5"3 so usually shop in the petite range. I've gone up a couple of sizes during pregnancy/postpartum, my hips and thighs are on the generous size and I've got a bit of a mum tum now too. At the moment I live in leggings and a baggy top but I've got a few tops that would look great with jeans and sandles in the nicer weather and want to go out of my (new) comfort zone a bit.

Is there a particular style/brand that you've found fit well? Bonus points if they're stretchy and soft!

I usually get my jeans in Fat Face or M&S as they do short length (as opposed to petite which tend to be neater in areas I don't require them to be neat 😁).

As someone the same shape, I've found stretchy jeans are actually less flattering than real denim (but then real denim is definitely less comfy)! If you do want stretchy though, M&S do good ones that wash well in all kinds of shape.

I didn't even think of Fat Face! My partner has some cargos from there that he loves and are great quality, so I'll definitely give them a look. Do you remember the name/style you went for?

That's good to know, it's finding the right balance of comfy and flattering isn't it! Which style do you generally go for? I see all these different styles like barrel, mum fit, dad fit, straight fit and it confuses my millennial mind when I'm used to just skinny jeans 🤣

I’m same height as you and same shape, I’m currently wearing gap vintage slim. I also recently bought some love and roses jeans in petite and they were a perfect length.

I am 5’3” and have a beautiful generous arse and sturdy thighs, and I have recently got on well with the M&S barrel leg jeans in petite (also only £30!).

Georgiemc · 03/05/2026 17:06

Abercrombie & Fitch, the curve love range. They do short lengths too.

Thank you, I'll have a look at Gap. Not heard of love and roses before but I'll add that to the list too!

Beautiful generous arse and sturdy thighs love that 🤣 I've seen some barrel fit ones before and they seem like they'd be flattering to balance out the ratios! £30 is brilliant too. Thank you!

Gap girlfriend jeans. I am 5ft with muscular thighs. They fit perfectly.

Outoftheblew · 03/05/2026 17:24

Marks and Spencer EVA jeans fit my generous thighs and backside very well.

sunshinebelieve · 03/05/2026 18:45

M&S Sienna straight jeans in short are my comfiest pair.

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 03/05/2026 18:46

Fat face.

Absolute game changer.

I was devastated when Debenhams shut down as they had always been my go-to but Fat Face has been a wonder find. We have an outlet near us too which helps 🤣

itsnothingoriginal · 03/05/2026 20:27

5'2 and agree with pp about the non stretchy denim fitting better. I've found Next Stovepipe jeans recently which are proper denim but quite soft - I have chunky thighs and because they aren't clingy anywhere, the fit balances out my short legs.

Bought several pairs as it's rare to find good jeans with my shape and I live in them!

Good American

Fellow petite thick thighed woman here 👋

twointhemorning · 03/05/2026 20:48

I’m 5'2", size 16–18, very much a thighs‑and‑bum shape. M&S are always recommended here, but after trying on loads, I realised M&S jeans just aren’t made for me.

White Stuff’s cropped jeans and barrel legs were a good, but the real winners were the Lands’ End Wide Leg Coolmax jeans in petite full length which are a great fit and really flattering. And totally unexpectedly, the wide‑leg cropped jeans from Bella di Notte are SO comfy and actually sit properly at the waist without gaping.

Freda69 · 04/05/2026 09:59

I’m 5ft 1in and somewhat round at the moment. I just got some straight Crew Clothing jeans in proper denim, which I think look better than the stretchy ones and they do petite. Very comfortable.
