Flattering casual summer outfits to disguise a fuller tummy

Hi there! I've always carried a bit of extra weight, but I seem to have gained quite a bit of belly fat in recent months. My jeans/leggings still fit, but I usually wear them with goodies that hide a bit more. I'd like to get some summery outfits, but lightweight trousers aren't covering anything and I bulge in all the wrong places. Obviously, weight loss is the plan, but in the meantime, can anybody suggest more flattering styles?? I'm a casual dresser, and need everyday stuff, nothing fancy!

Af 48 and after 4 c-sections, this is a speciality of mine.

There are particular styles that work better than others. So, I find fit and flare dresses flatter and skin nicely, especially in cotton or linen (viscose can be a bit clingy), and shirt dresses work well, with a belt to define the waist.

Trousers are my nemesis and I find it’s as much down to the individual pair than following a particular style- one pair of wide legs can look great and the next shocking. However, on the whole, higher waist, wide leg jeans work. As does higher waist culottes/,wide leg crops. I also have a couple of pairs of tailored linen wide legs that look great, with some genius darting going on (Poetry, so not cheap but worth it)

Baggy clothing isn’t great, I find. It just looks big, shapeless and sad on me (I’m petite apart from my middle day reserves). Better to wear wide legs with a tucked in t shirt, half tuck sweater or shorter fit top to give a bit of shape.

I can’t work out how to do skirts. I loo like I’m all middle.

Not sure what others think and sure there are rules I’m missing, but those things work okay for me.
