Spring/ summer jacket

Please can you suggest a smart Spring/ summer jacket for a 47 year old, 5’3, size 10. As I am short and a little overweight at 60 kg, anything boxy does not look good on me. All jackets at high steer brand are wide and boxy. I don’t want to spend a lot because I am hoping to lose weight in a few months. I am in London so can go to shops to try.

Also, where do you buy smart trousers / jeans. Again to too expensive as I hope to lose weight and then buy nice things :)

Hi OP - what sort of colour will work best with your wardrobe - navy/black/beige? And by smart do you mean over dresses, with smart trousers etc? Also, what is not a lot, or not too expensive - as it means very different things to different people!!!

Have a look at this blazer from Whistles petite range (comes in black, navy, khaki or a greyish tone). It's worn with jeans in most of the photos, but would also look good with straight/wide trousers or over a simple midi dress.

A shorter one, but not boxy as such. It's neat-ish in fit, & comes in cream or black. Also reduced down to £40.

New Look has a petite range too, that may throw up some options. Unfortunately jackets ARE short & boxy this spring!!! Some are a bit more fitted/tailored than others though. Some ok-looking trousers, though I doubt the quality would be great.
