Brow lamination - disaster

I have dark eyebrows and quite thick. However I’m in my 40s so I get white hairs and it’s probably getting less thick. How rubbish, in the 90s I had to pluck them all out and now my brows are fashionable age is sabotaging me!
Ive had wax and tint before and been relatively pleased with the results. This time I went to a new salon and allowed myself to be talked into brow lamination. £44 later and I hate them. They feel crunchy. The ends of one brow are like burnt hair. They are mental, every two minutes they’re off in every direction and need combing. I was literally told this procedure would stop the need to glue them down. I couldn’t be more Einstein than I am now. Absolutely gutted.

So sorry OP. I used to have mine laminated with similar results. It will go away soon. It’s so hard for us 90s ladies to recover our eyebrows. Solidarity 🌷

I'm sorry. It does sound awful.

But the way you describe it is so funny
can you smile through the crunch ?

You two “first responders” have made me feel so much better!! Gems you are ❤️

Theyre always a bit intense the first day wait a couple of washes

Have you got a good serum to put on them to smooth them?

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 24/04/2026 18:46

Oooh, I’m interested! I’d love to hear how it goes. I’m very fair of brow and now white of brow. I have been thinking about brows, however I’ve recently stopped using contacts in favour of glasses, so I don’t suppose anyone can see them!

PlumPieBaker · 24/04/2026 19:01

should I wash? I was given a serum to put on which I will. But they are embarrassingly mentally so I’ve had to pull a few
she didn’t tell me to wash or not to wash. Just to apply serum.

Leave them for 24hrs then shower as normal - dont scrub tho

They will calm

Fellow 80s/90s over plucker here too , late 80s fashion was the Sperm Brow (no , nothing like that , it was a tadpole shape with an angular arch )
Mine got hacked off and said "No , we won't grow back , you'll be in with the Tweezermans again "

If I religiously apply Revitabrow I can get a good result but it is £ and a long course of treatment .

I have thought about tattoo/microblading etc but never been brave enough

Haha I had brow lamination last Saturday - I was looking for a confidence booster / small pick me up (ironically).

I have never looked so ridiculous as in the first 24 hours I can’t really describe it - I had them tinted so they were crazy dark but also massive and kind of… bendy.

a week later I can’t decide if I like the extra height and volume or whether I’ll stick to a tint & wax in future.

oh - 90s babe here too!! I remember sperm brow all my friends had it!!!
